Anybody use the Ramman disc brake spindles and brake conversion? I am looking to convert to disc brakes on a 66 Plymouth Sattelite for a regular driver and want good stopping power.

I think he use's all factory stuff based on the 73-76 a body disc set up and it works well. Just make sure you use 15 inch rims and if ya can get the 11.75 rotors, as the 10.87 rotors are a tad small imho. But either set up will provide good braking, it's just the bigger rotors will be that much better and you dont want to skimp on braking.

I used early '70's B-body spindles and rotors on my '66. Works great with E-body calipers.

This is correct. I bought a kit from him last weekend. I live in the DFW area (he's in Ft. Worth). Good guy. He treated me right. Haven't installed the kit yet cause it's been cold and wet here and I'm having to do the work in the driveway. Going to be nice today and tomorrow though, so my son and I will be working on it.

I know some folks give the Ramman some flak, but like DWinTX mentioned he really is a good guy. Went out of his way to call me back and have a couple longer phone conversations with me about the whole Bendix/Disc systems from the late 60's even though he already knew I wasn't going to buy anything from him being I already had what I needed. Guy knew his stuff. My 2cents.

If you are on the west side of Fort Worth and need a space inside. Shoot me a PM. Got a spare spot in the garage you can use for a day.

Now thats the way to help a guy out!!!!!!

Thanks for the offer carcrazyguy, that's really nice of you. But I am way up on the north side of Lake Lewisville near Little Elm. Plus, it would be hard to get the car there in it's current condition. :icon_winkle:

No problem. Would have been glad to let you use the garage. It is sitting empty waiting on the Charger to get finished. Good luck with the swap!

How'd the swap go?Are prices pretty comparable to the others?

I used his drilled and slotted large rotors, and I love them! EBC pads too- those are great as well.

We're still workin' on it. Between the weather and some parts delays (we're rebuilding the entire suspension too with Firm Feel stuff), it's been slow going. Got the front end together except the HD strut rods as they accidentally sent me A-Body rods. We're working on the rear end this weekend. Replacing springs, shocks and brakes back there too, as well as adding a FF sway bar.

As far as the cost of the brake conversion, I think if you're comparing apples to apples, a basic setup is about the same. If you get into drilled and slotted rotors, multi-piston Wilwood calipers, etc., that's different. But I looked at all the kits and it seemed they were all within a hundred bucks or so.

Ok.Looks like I'll keeping 64 so last piece to the puzzle is disc for the front.Did my old 63 about 15yrs ago with A body donor stuff.Found some spindles local.By the time I buy all the other stuff new+core charges doesn't make sense.Thinking Ramman will save me time, money,+aggrevastion

Bought the Ramman conversion looks like good quality as in previous pictures from Dwintx also using drilled and slotted rotors from summit racing.Going to be a while before installiation doing an engine conversion also.
