We need a location, jerry. A picture would help also, if possible.

Check out the springer front end & internal drum brake! However, when it comes to cool bikes, back in the day,the Raleigh Chopper was the berries. Only the cool kids with rich parents had those.

The only problem with those bikes today is that a mid-50s guy looks like a retard riding it.

RC I'm sure that you would look good tooling around on that ,a guy in his sixties would look stupid ,:blob1::headbang:

Well, they were never meant for a fully grown person to be riding them. I remember when those came out and thought why? They were kinda heavy right out of the box and especially on the front.

Man I remember those bikes! We had a Schwinn dealer downtown, all they sold was bikes, they had a showroom, mechanics, and parts department, all for bicycles!

Ya Donny, those were definately the good old days!! The krates and stingrays were the cooolest things! I had a base model single speed with a fat slick on it. Always wanted a 5 speed.stingrays-copy-copy.jpg

LMFAO Dick. Made me spit on my monitors.
Thanks, I needed that today.

I had a black 5 speed Stingray, coolest bike in the hood! :headbang:

Those bikes were cool but they were for the rich pussy kids who putted around the neighborhood. That's why there are so many of them still around. You didn't see too many of them with bent rims or twisted frames.

We rode the hell out of our bikes and we all agreed that the concept of that gear shift staring at your nuts when you caught air wasn't so cool.

Nice bike, I have my pea picker still that I bought when I was 15, with my paper route money. I think it was 104.99. I put a 2 speed front gear set on it , making a 10 speed. You could climb a telephone pole with it. And the best part, it has an original Schwinn green racing slick on it. Low miles. :) oh, I worked at a Schwinn bike shop after school, good deal on parts!
