Here is the old Satellite I had posted I picked up on here and was thinking of parting it out.

I am thinking of maybe saving it, But this is what I was thinking..

Flat black, black nascar looking wheels with fat tires front and back, sheetmetal door panels and a stout small block. I also want to keep it low... Just a fun mean toy to play around it...

What do you all think?

Looks like a pretty solid car to part out.....I vote keep it and fix it.

I thought about making it a fake GTX.... It suppose to be a 67.. I have to look at it and see unless someone here can tell from the photos.

Seems like a really straight body to just part out. The interior sure needs some help. I would fix it up, but I'm crazy that way.....

Sounds good to me - except maybe add a stout big block.

IMO. Redo the interior, make the underside bits good, leave the body as is and give it a clearcoat.

Super Rat!

I think this would be an excellent candidate for a nice cruising vessel. I've seen a pretty marked increase in the number of these cars being brought onto the market by guys who had grand visions of perfect restorations and huge values, but their champagne plans ran afoul of their beer budgets and now they're just looking to get out from under them. We just had a 67 GTX convertible with a 66 Satellite parts car sell for about $3k on CL, and I've seen several 66/67 parts cars pop up for sale, so getting everything you need to fix this car up shouldn't be too hard.

If anyone else out there may want this thing I will trade it for a 70 model dart, duster roller...

It's got 67 seats and a 67 grille and rear.

Those quarters look fairly solid.

I like the matte black thing.

Where DO you find all those cars?

Matte anything cars used to be rare, but I'm seeing more and more matte black cars lately, especially imports and mid-80s to mid-90s Camaros and Firebirds. From the owners I've talked to, they went that way because it's dirt cheap, about $200 to get the car done, since the painter doesn't care about shine quality and doesn't have to do much sanding before or polishing afterwards. It's essentially the rattle-can grey paint job of our youth. :)

Derby car? Flat it all out than teach some ole fools how it's done :headbang:

I've seen a few flat black muscle cars and a a lot of Rat rods and the matte black will be cool especially with black steels and some old chrome lug nuts/no hubcaps.

Or just sand of the exterior rust and hit it with black or gray and drive it that way while sprucing up the interior a little for comfort/smell reduction/to keep the rain/wind noise/bugs out etc. and build the drivetrain. If you go 8 3/4 you could always pull the drivetrain incl the rear center chunk for another b-body (a body housings are rare so could sell/trade the 3rd member)
