X2 on the flat black
Al

If you go 8 3/4 you could always pull the drivetrain incl the rear center chunk for another b-body (a body housings are rare so could sell/trade the 3rd member)

Most if not all 66 V8 B body cars I've seen already have an 8 3/4

what i meant was if he puts money in the the 3'rd member he can keep the chuck and sell off the existing 8 3/4 for some bucks. I assumed he had the 8 3/4 already.

yes it is an 8 3/4 car... I want a 70 a body... I may just try and trade it off.. I want to build me a FM3 copy car..

Then I agree, a 66/67 B body 8 3/4 is a perfect axle for a 70 "29" (Duster/Demon) A body.

I'd say save it. but for me the flat black has gotten kinda old lately. every tuner or 4X4 guy around here has done the flat black. I'd rather see grey or red primer myself.

going with a satin black on my 67 coronet.think it would look great on your car as well.prob going with a bit more motor then you,but its all about the $$$ for me.mine goes up for sale when done. 2012-06-06_15-03-53_673.jpg

That car is pretty rough. I assume all of the water valves are probably stuck. How are the window mechanisms? Do you have any spare parts? It will take a ton of time and effort to get that car on the road again. How bad are the floors? It is a neat car and would be a shame to part it but then again it is a big investment if you try to revive it. Hard to say...

IMO. Redo the interior, make the underside bits good, leave the body as is and give it a clearcoat.

Super Rat!

+1! Don't paint it flat black. I'm digging the patina as-is! I wouldn't even clear coat it. Just re-do everything but the paint and drop a big block in.

the VW guys are all over that. There's a guy from Austriala that's doing a late '50s early '60s Bug. Did the mechinacls, made the interior nice, ans cleared the body. looks great.

How about matte Petty Blue? Throw a 43 on it, some STP stickers and roll.

I didn't vote but, drive it like it is after you go over the mechanicals and fix the interior.

Yeah buy Curt!I know you miss the silver bullet!!

Everyone has their own opinion. I am currently building a 1966 Belvedere II, mild 440, stock interior, cage, mini tub, flat black paint and currently flat black later style cop car wheels~no hub caps and chrome lug nuts. But this is my street bruiser, not a show car.
Soooo yea I like the idea, of course.

Ok you have my attention.....how much for the car?

Shoot me a pm with some contact information. I already have one pretty nice pro street car and I really do not need to build this one.. You can get it real cheap if you find me a 70 dart or duster with interior.. No need of a motor or trans and I can fix a little rust. I would swap even for it.. I do not care if it is a / car or not either..

It depends on how bad the sub frames and floors are. If you can do your own work, I would not spend big bucks on floors and repair panels--make your own . There are ways of makeing a presentable street driver without investing all your grocery money................MO

You can get from DuPont a light green epoxy primer that you can do body plastic over it and it is water proof-- great for the person that does a little of the body work at a time and can still be a driver..............MO
