Hello FBBO.

My name is Nigel.
I live in England not far from the two main Drag Strip here, Santa Pod Raceway, Northamptonshire and Shakespeare County Raceway, Warwickshire.

I have had a interest in American Classic's for about 26 years now.

I have owned a 69' Coronet 440 drag car for the last 14 years which has ran a best of a 10.7 @ 127 mph.

Last year i brought a 64' Polara 500 which i have as a street legal cruiser.
The Polara is only 1 of 4 that are here in England to which mine is the only street legal one.
One of the others has been parked up now for a couple of years.
One was imported last year from Europe and not been seen.
One is in the stage of being worked on ( total rebuild ).
And the last one has just been imported from the States and being built as a wheel altered Gasser.

I have loaded a few pictures of my B Bodied Classic's.

97' Dodge Ram B2500, 3.9 V6 towing the trailer with the Polara on is my daily driver.

I SOLD THE CHEVY GULFSTREAM SUNSPORT RV AS IT WASN'T A " DODGE " :laughing4:

Nice cars... welcome to the site. You'll need to put up some more pictures of that Polara :)

Thanks for the welcome Stumper.

More pictures of the Polara will follow once that i find and get the hood trim that i need to finish dressing it after getting the hood in paint.

**** HOOD WITH THE " MAX WEDGE " SCOOP. ****

Not sure at the moment whether to do the paint in top gloss so it looks like a genuine hood to the Polara or whether to get it done in satin black !?!.

Any thoughts anyone to which paint ( gloss or satin ) to finish the hood. What do you think guys !!.
All comment are welcome.

nice 69 Coronett & nice 64 Polara too, welcome to FBBO

HI :eek:ccasion14:

Some more pic's of my 64' Polara 500.

Imported into England from near Bakersfield, California.
From what history i can find out about the Polara, it was sold at auction after being in a private collection for 28 years.
Had been drag raced in the California with a stroker motor fitted.
Apart from that, i cant find out anymore history of who owned it etc.
L A built so been a " dry state " California Classic all its life ( until it came to England ) lol.

The 440 is a fresh build and was built in England by
Dave Billadeau @ BILLADEAU SPEED & AUTOMOTIVE,
www.billadeau-speed.co.uk.

440 c.i. ( standard bore ) Six Pak spec ( extra bottom end work done ).
MSD billet dis / MSD ing.
Torker Performer inlet.
Demon 950 cfm carb.
Hedman headers.
Stainless steel 3 " exhaust with 90' 3" side kick outs from back of Spin Tec boxes finishing in front of rear axle,
( fitted with drop outs for on the strip ).
Full race spec 727 Torqueflight.
Manual reversed pattern valve body.
9" 3000 High stall converter.
SCS shifter.
8 3/4 Suregrip, 4.10 gears.
33 spline aftermarket shafts.

6 point cage with hinge out door bars.
Subframe connectors.
Pro Stock leaf springs.
Delco 500 drag shockers all round.

Body graphic's are sign written ( by hand ) and where done here in England to give the Polara that " OLD SKOOL " Dragstalgia look.

Welcome Nigel. Very nice cars.

Please explain to those two bone heads on Wheeler Dealers what "American Muscle Car" means as it's clear you know, they don't. I saw an episode of WD the other night where they were describing an 82 Corvette as a "real American Muscle Car". Good laugh.

Love the BBC Top Gear though.

Nigel, Welcome to FBBO, from Canada. Really like the blue 69. I always wanted to drag race, too old for it now!!

Thank you for the welcomes and comment on the Classic's.

Runner 68, lol " bone heads ".
Know what you mean, i never watch that program tho but don't know how some people call some cars Classic's !!.
I do watch BBC's Top Gear, makes me laugh.

Bee383, a friend has got the Coronet up for sale @ £11,300 English pounds.
Alot ( totally loads more ) invested in the Coronet.
Alot of Coronet for the money.

Drag racing is out costing its self here with the way things are going with the World in general.

6pktgo, never to old for anything ( thats what i say anyway lol ).

Engine out for inspection after bedding it in for 500 miles.
The sump gasket was leaking slightly also so that needed doing.
While engine was out, i stripped the paint off the inlet as petrol had flooded from carb and pickled the paint up.

You can now see the bottom end work done ( blue printed ) from the photo.
Crank lightened and balanced ( drilled / ground ).
Rods ground and balanced.
Piston keep pin blocks drilled to loose weight to balance them to equal weights.

Great looking cars! and welcome from the other side of the creek!

Welcome aboard !!
nice cars !

Welcome to the board from across the pond! Very nice cars. Cheers Nigel!

Welcome and you have some great cars. When I was in the Navy I was based out of NAS Bermuda for three years and tried so hard to get my Road Runner shipped out there so I could legitimately claim I owned the fastest car in the country, but the Navy wouldn't ship it. :(
