In the garage. Under the hood. Again.
With thanks to(and encouragement from) cr8crshr!

'Tis the season that hopes and fields of dreams are made of. Spring training is in full swing(OK. Bad pun)and rosters are being determined and young hopefuls become young stars-or outright busts. I've been a baseball fan since I was a wee lad. Still have a "Most Improved Player" trophy from 6th grade proudly displayed in the upstairs mini-Man Cave. Bleeped up my knees playing freshman football,or I would have tried out in high school. Just couldn't run or move like before,so...

My team was/is/always will be the Detroit Tigers. Have an "Al Kaline" autographed baseball that goes with me to the grave. Have the rare Jerry Green book "Year Of The Tiger" about the 1968 World Championship team, and the Sparky Anderson(RIP) book "Bless You Boys" about the 1984 champs. Still hate the St. Louis Cardinals for 2006:angry9: and the Frisco Giants for last year:angry9::angry9:. As for this year, well,I'm seeing things in spring training that have me a bit concerned. Verlander got bloody rocked against the Mets the other day,Fister ain't the Fister of old,and they STILL need a reliable closer. But...we still have Miggy and Prince,Victor Martinez is coming back, and we've now got Tori Hunter. Be afraid AL pitchers,be VERY afraid.

...And the Yankees still suck donkey balls. So there.

I got nothin I live in Pittsburgh ........worst minor league team in the majors

Sorry Pops;just grew up intensely disliking that team. Especially after going to Tiger Stadium in '69 and watching the @#$%&$% beat my Tigers in BOTH games of a double-header. That has an impression on a kid. A negative one! Admittedly, the Yankees of old were truly great teams;the last few years they've been represented by the likes of A-(hole)-Rod. Now Mariano Rivera IS a class act,and I'm glad he's pitching one more season;going out on his terms. The BEST closer ever, and I've got no problem saying that.

AL K....All in good fun..... Work at Yankee stadium in the late 70's as a vender. Seen them lose the world series to the Red's. Also Had a great run of being at the stadium from 1986 to 2006......Bronx's Bomber will be back....

I've been a die hard Royals fan since the early 70's. It looks like we might be on our way back one of these days. We've had a great spring training season so far, but I realize it's just spring ball and things change. I catch a lot of crap, but I am a true fan, good or bad, they are my team.

Al, I was too young to remember the '68 series, but lots of people around here still talk about it. We kinda feel '06 was a little bit of payback lol.

I think you'll have the better team this year. If Verlander gets ironed out and the rest of the pitching stays healthy I think the Tigers will have a great year. I got to go to old Tiger Stadium in 1996. It was a neat place and I'm glad I saw it before it was gone. I haven't gotten to the new stadium yet and hope to in the next few years. Sparky Anderson might be my second favorite manager next to Whitey Herzog. Jim Leyland would be up there too.

Haven't been paying attention much yet this year but I am so looking forward to watching and listening to most of the games in my shop this season. It's been a couple of years since I went to the park, gotta make it this year!:headbang:
Sorry for the sideways pic. It's from my iPad and I don't know how to correct it but you get the idea!
Go get em Tigers!

I think its finally time for the Reds this year. (Been since '90) Of course, I have nothing to complain about...I could be a Cubs fan.
