Funny thing, I opend up the front page on the Forum & saw the title "Best car song", with out even opening up the first song I thought of was "I'm in love with my car". Then I saw the OP.

Hell, there are so many good "CAR" songs. Not all are car related, but just great music to listen to when driving/cruising. I'd love to make a playlist one of these days with great driving music.

Budnicks...Sounds like all the DJ's play lists at these Cruises that is over amplified and the same "OL" same. Great Classic Tunes tough as they never get old. You'd like Radar Gun in my opinion...cr8crshr/Tuck

Kathy Mattea's 455 Rocket is the all time best car song. Sorry guys, I'm an old Olds fan from way back. "Who's junk pile piece of Chhheeeevellle is this?"

It's awesome to see all the songs you guys mentioned. One important thing is that we all have some song that brings up special memories and associations of enjoying our rides . Another one of mine was "Planet Claire" by the B-52's. I named my 70 Satellite, Claire, after that song. The opening lyrics were

"She came from Planet Claire. I knew she came from there. She drove a Plymouth Satellite, faster than the speed of light....."

Those B-52's would fit right in on FBBO !!!!!

A buddy of mine back in the 80's we called Fatty (AKA Steve Leonard - Budnicks knew who he was) rewrote Shut Down by the Beach Boys. Changes are in red:
