vitamin c orange, factory go wing, factory hood pin, 383/727. first day it arrived was cleaning the 2 full size garbage cans of crap out of it and vacuuming. 2nd day was the start of the tear down. after the first week she is now stripped, all rust patches have been repaired to the body, rear window frame, trunk and floor. the seats are getting redone at the shop and the grill, wing, dash and cluster have all been refurbished to new. hoping to get this car from a rusted barn find to a new ride in 1 month. ive been putting in 8-12hrs a day everyday and will-so till shes done. I love building them from the ground up...gives me a chance to clean, repaint, repair or replace every little part.

these pics are actually a few days old, I have repaired much more and refurbished a lot of parts since then. hopefully I can paint it by next week

Wow, that really looks great! I am seriously beyond impressed with the timeline you've gotten this far with! I really wish I had those kind of metal skills. Good for you man!

You don't mess around! Congrats on the buy!

What welder are you using and at what settings? I can't get my welds to look like your's, and I'd like to.

Wow - you don't sit around twirling your thumbs. Nice work. Did you use chrome paint or foil on the dash pieces?

Actually its a 2 stage paint for the Chrome, its only used with an airbrush. It comes out the closest to Chrome I've seen. It has a mirror reflection when sprayed on a flat surface like Chrome and not like silver paint. It's only $9 for a small bottle. It's called alclad, you have to paint what ever u want chrome, gloss black first then mist over it with alclad. I used it on another dash bezels and no one knew it was $9 paint lol.

Are you pretty confident that you've located all the rust spots without stripping the paint entirely? I was just curious as most of the full restos I see on here, people blast most of the paint off.

Please keep the updates comin'!
