This is interesting. I'd never have thought about an NOS K-Frame. I can just imagine a typical Chrysler dealership parts department back in 1970: shelves full of oil filters, light bulbs, touch-up paint, K-Frames... Yep, better stock up on those K-Frames Bob, they sell like hotcakes.
Shipping from Virginia to my part of Canada would likely be prohibitive, but I wouldn't mind seeing the pictures anyway. Thanks...
I've seen lots of cars get abused back then...heck, I was even one of them and even bottomed out my car hard enough to bang the K-frame on the pavement. I can see someone doing that hard enough to warrant K-frame replacement and some dealer ordering the replacement parts to fix a high end car such as a 6-pack car then someone deciding not to fix and just sell it or trade it in. Someone along the line might have figured that the banged up K-frame wasn't bad enough to hurt the way the suspension worked and to just leave it be......or maybe the guy that owned it got drafted and went to Nam. That happened to me in 71 only I got lucky and didn't go to that killing field but had to sell my car when I got shipped out to Germany.
Here it is guys. Been in the rafters of a barn since 1980. Surface rusted. The tag "79" was wired to it. I can't make out the part number stamped on it but looks like 3466479. Price is $500 plus shipping.
