Hi all,

Some friends and I have started a car club in the Detroit area called Twisted Axle Car Club. We are an all makes and models club that focuses on classic and modified cars and trucks.

We have a large club house, with hoists, storage and lots of parking space for shows, events, etc. Soon we will have decals and shirts but we just got started. We will also be doing some car shows, poker runs, and meet and greets as well.

We just set up a facebook site last night. So check it out http://www.facebook.com/#!/TwistedAxleCarClub Maybe post what you are working on, your current ride or just something cool. We would appreciate it!!!

All are welcome to the facebook page even if you are not from detroit.

For the local people we are located at 15 and mound in sterling hts. and cruise around any time the weather is nice. Weekdays, weekends, whenever. We are also currently restoring some cars and are affiliated with several shops in the area.

Let me know if you have any questions or interest. Any type of feedback would also be appreciated.

here are some pics of my rides and the shop. It is packed right now for storage, but will be mostly empty in the summer.

The 72 scamp is in progress and almost done. The 70 coronet I have posted several times before.

We hope to see some of you around town or on the web.

thank you

-mike

Sounds like a great plan Mike, I look forward to hangin' out with you guys sometime. Make sure you post up when your events happen. I'm not to far away from you really and was planning some events at my shop sometime this summer, 14 & Coolidge area a few blocks east of Woodward.

Thats cool Matt. I figured you would chime in eventually. I will let you know. Did you get rid of that 70 net?

Mike, I'm on board if you'll have me. But I ride more than I drive. I work at that big place at 16 and V-D.

Hey scott. You are more than welcome to come out and join us. The passengers seat in my coronet is usually open.

I work at 15 and mound and live at 14 and mound...you must be near stanley , beattie.. or maybe executive dr....I work on stanley. anyway Ill keep my eye out..

Sounds good ZR9B. We are on Beattie. You may have seen a bunch of tire marks on the road near the end.......that may have been from a few of us. I hope to see you around. We are currently putting a flyer together for our first meet and greet which is tentatively planned for the second weekend in May (11th or 12th). (the week after the bearing burners car show at the GM Tech Center.

I will post a notification when I have a more firm date. We are working on a lot of different things right now to get the club rolling, so we have been busy.

Some tire marks? cough cough.. Yes I have seen them....I run a little plastics shop at the end of stanley...Scott Williams rent his building from us...He has some nice cars..anyway in the summer my yellow car is usually parked in front of the shop..

update!!!!

Hi fellow Detroiters,

So spring is supposed to be here, but I am just not feeling it yet in the D. Too much damn rain. BUT, saturday the 27th is supposed to be nice!!!! With that being said TWISTED AXLE CAR CLUB would like to have a get together between 10am and 12 with a cruise afterwards. Nothing major for this meeting because the weather just hasn't been cooperating, allowing some of our members to roll their cars outside and finish some stuff up. We will definitely have a more formal get together later in June......The sun should be around by then....right? So if you have some time and want to get your ride on the road, maybe meet some people and talk classic and modified cars and trucks we will be at the shop, which is on Beattie street in sterling heights (15 mile and mound....off of 15 mile, east of mound). Sorry I don't remember the address but it is 3/4 of the way down on the right. I will post the address later after work. We also wanted to hold off a bit on a formal meet and greet because many of the stored vehicles just haven't left the shop due to the weather.

If you know anyone that wants to participate please let them know.

I will also try and send PM's or emails to the people that sent them to me.

Thanks
mike

I'm working tomorrow, but I will try to come-by on my lunch to say hi. I'll be the one in the work clothes, driving the crappy car:icon_frown:

But kudos, and thanks to you for putting in the hard work to bring this together!

Mike and Matt, it was a pleasure meeting you guys today! I have a torn-down car right now. But these guys have some killer rides that gave me the motivational kick-in-the-*** that I needed to start fixing the 'Bird. Thanks for your hospitality Mike. And I look forward to the next meet.

Hey thanks for coming out scott. We will have something more happening next month. It was nice meeting you. Let us know if you need any help with your ride.
