Me and the wifey took the cream puff out for it's virgin voyage since I bought the car and just got the motor running. No plates, a little bit of brakes but what the heck, I just wanted to make a trip to the gas station to fill here up.

Here's a pic...

Well... we got to the gas station and I was pumping away when gas started spilling out everywhere from the rubber grommet where the fill tube goes into the tank. Called the neighbor and we towed the car home, did not want to risk a crispy cream puff!

Anyone have a fix or know of a repair DIY for this? 1967 Coronet 500.

Once again, thanks a ton. tiphat_zpsd31ae088.gif

You can purchase a replacement filler neck grommet. Shouldn't be that hard to replace it....

mancini racing, classic industries, yearone, ebag, all places to get it,
remove filler tube pop out grommet with tank in the car or you can remove the tank and do it,

IMO i would also replace the grommet where the sender goes too

It's actually quite the bitch to get the filler neck out of 66/67 Bs.

Much easier if dropping the tank.

Is that the car that was on ebay very recently?

If so, you got a great deal!

Thanks everyone, got one one order! Leaking gas=bad
