1972 400 purple shaft cam (not sure which one ), edelbrock performer intake, new 625 cfm street demon carb,1970 440 heads, mopar performance distributer with orange box, edelbrock performer fuel pump.At idle the the motor has 6 to 7 hg vacuum.I just put lighter metering rod springs in which did help.I also have a factory hemi stall speed in trans.Car will idle from cold for 30 minutes.Put it in gear everything is fine runs good.Drive the car for 30 minutes it runs good until you get to a stop light and the idle will drop off and stall. It will get worse as the engine bay heats up (but motor doesn't over heat)Help I am open for suggestions very frustrated. Thanks 66 convert

Punctuation!

Sounds like vapor lock, insulate the fuel line and use a phenolic or wood carb spacer to isolate the carb from the heat in the manifold.

sounds like the float level is too high or you have a sticky/dirty needle valve and is causing a float bowl to fill up and dump gas... just something else to check

I am using a edelbrock heat insulator. What would use to insulate the fuel lines with.Have delt with this issue nice last summer.Installed a new valley pan with the heat crossovers blocked last week that didn't help either.

On my Charger i have messed around wtih normal househould plumbing type insulated pipe wrap. i couldn't really see a difference. The biggest difference came from a 1/2 inch wood carb spacer(largest that fits under the hood) and a high volume electric fuel pump that keeps the line full of liquid fuel and doesn't allow it to vaporize.
