Can anyone help me with this one, have 318 poly and want to add a petronics coil , all ready added a igniter kit , but not sure which coil i can use.thanks

I have pertronics in my poly and used the stock coil, after a few month i bought a Flame Thrower, they both seemed to work very well,so i guess its up to you.

mrkinger,do you remember if it was a 1.5 ohm or a 3 ohm. Thanks for your input.

I put a Pertronix on several years ago, and that time, they did not say what the specs of the coil should be. Of course they recommended their own. 8-) Ballast resister? no ballast resister? Ohms? Internal coil resister? no resister at all? Maybe you should contact Pertronics Tech line.........................MO

Its the weekend,I was thinking the same come monday, thought I`d try here.

From the Summit catalog: The 1.5 ohm coils are for 8 cylinder applications. The 3 ohm coils are for 4 & 6 cylinders. The 1.5 ohm coil is part #PNX-40111 in black or part #PNX-40001 in chrome.
