The world is a little colder these days since the passing of our sweet boy "Sammy Hagar". Sammy lost his battle with Bone Cancer this week. I'm going to miss those saggy lips flapping in the breeze when he hangs his head out of the window of the pickup truck. And there won't be anyone to kick my tools around the garage floor while I'm trying to work. Sammy was 12. A good long life for a Great Dane. Rest in Peace Baby Boy. I'll see you on the other side. Sry about your loss...Pets are the best thing to get rid of stress and always there for you

Sorry to hear of your loss
I like dogs more than most people
Loosing them as our best friends is tuff man
Good luck

Fine looking Dane, may he rest in piece. Sammy lived a good long life for a Dane, mine is 10 and I fear I don't have much more time left with him. I can picture him with the tools on the floor, mine would do that too before the arthritis set in. He (Duesenberg) still likes to lean on me and swing his head from side to side as if to say "Come on let's play!"

Very sorry for your loss, that's a tough one to get over.

quicknick I'm so sorry to hear about Sammy's passing you have mine, my Buddy {just turned 15 yesterday} & my cruising partner, you have our deepest heartfelt condolences, for your loss....

Man, that's a bummer.

Only positive, besides the time you had together, is that that's the circle of life, and that's the way it's supposed to be.

We've recently had to release our indoor cats to allow them to come and go, due to some territorial issues. So far (we're in week two), they seem happier, and are still coming in occasionally, and keeping to the yard.

I'm struggling with knowing that it's probably just a matter of time before we find one hit in the street, or one just disappears, for whatever reason, and we'll likely never know.

I am sure he will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. (All of mine too.)

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry for your loss. My son's grampa (fighting a losing battle with cancer) just had to put down his Rotti yesterday, he severed his spinal cord. I can't read rainbow bridge without crying.

My condolences for your loss. I know this doesn't help relieving the grief, but remember all the good times you had with Sammy. It may help ease the pain a little bit.

I am very sorry for your loss. I lost mine this past Christmas after a 2 year battle to antifreeze. Me and my other lab were so fricking depressed I bought a new 8 week old chocolate lab, now we are all happy again but nothing will replace the love like you had for Sammy and my buddy Chance.
