what is a good Carb for a 452 BB(440-60 over). I have been kicking around buying a 650 performance or 670 averager (holley) I presently have 850 Holley performance Carb on my motor now, rear gears 3.55 stock exhaust manifolds.

depends on the rest of the elements.what do you use the car for?what cam, intake, and stall on conv?what points do you shift?(auto/man)any othe eng mods?heads?not a simple question.

I owned this car 17 yrs ago and bought it back, so. I know it 60 over, mild cam, torkerII manifold, automatic. pump gas. its just a street cruiser a few hole shot here and there but just drive it here and there.

850 and a torker II give crap streetability with a mild cam.i would change to a 750 and a dual plane intake.if you go holley design stay with vac secondary.650 cfm is a bit small and will only pull power to 4500 rpm or so.

I'd say 650 to 750 vac secondary or a factory AVS or Eddy AFB. For the street you will do well on the smaller side (650 - 700). Yes, power will be limited on the top end but it all depends what you want out of it. I had a 750 on my 440 with a factory intake and it ran high 12's.

I'm with Meep as far as the smaller carb is concerned. I'm running a 750 CFM Eddy on a dual plane Edelbrock CH4B on my 440 with a mild cam and Tflite. Runs like a charm on the street and plenty of power.

Hey I want to thank you all on the input. I order a 670 street Avenger through JEGS, Best price I found.

So right. Since you've decided on the 670 Avenger, I'd change the intake to a dual-plane as well.

It does have a Torker intake manifold on it. Carb will be here tomorrow.
So, what you're doing is putting a smaller (670 cfm vs. 850 cfm) carb, on a open plenum manifold. I'm missing the purpose here.
