Hello from Pa Barn Find Survivor 69 Charger RT

nice find! Find a body shop that know how to use a clay bar and check out how pretty that paint can look. low miles I wouldn't rebuild, wash claybar, n wax get all the necessary rubber parts replaced, clean gas tank and drive it

Dude,,, look back a couple posts... You'll notice the thing on a rotisserie and naked!!!!!!

Looks GREAT Duda...... Good work!!!
Let us know about Mopar Nationals.... I would love to stop by and check it out!

I am hoping to have it together by mid July. I still need to by an enclosed trailer with an escape door.

The inner parts are ready still waiting for the body to be painted, do they make a body man who meets deadlines. The shop light does not do the color any justice.

Love the way you sorted those bolts and fasteners for painting mate! :)

3 months behind schedule but 2 weeks away from paint. The life of a body shop, go at your own pace. Slow and delayed.

yeah :iamwithstupid: many body shops & most body guys, beat to a different drum "sometimes", to much Bondo sniffing :headbang: or lacquer/acetone rotting the brain cells :headbang: maybe...LOL... my step dad was a really good body man, but didn't do it for a living ether, he was always a "little off, out there", when he was into a body & paint project... that's what I always attributed it to anyway...

DUDA thanks for updating and posting the photos sure looking real good not long now keep us updated thanks

I would like to post some more pics, I have over a thousand of the restoration but it is a time killer trying to post them. Is there a quicker method.

I would keep it original if it was me, how is the motor? How long has it been stored in the garage? Do you have the documentation, build sheets, fender tags?

Very nice find. Love the color too. I live in PA and if i'm ever by your way, I'd love to check out the finished product. At the pace you're working, should be done by spring. Good luck

I like Imgur.com to photo host personally because you can drag your photo's from the folder they are stored in on your computer over to the website

The car is in excellent condition with no rust or holes. I have all the documentation on the car as it was never changed from factory. The motor had some issues and is a long story. The only things that were missing on the car was the radio and wheels. The car is being cleaned and reassembled with all the factory correct parts that were still on it from day one. I. Only had to find wheels and a radio. The interior will retain all the factory issued including carpet, seats with upholstery.

Doing a great job on the charger! I wish I had one in the cond. yours was when you found it! I had a 69 R/T SE many years ago. Regret selling it!!

Beautiful car! Does the person who sold it to you have a twin sister with a Super Bee in the same condition?

Don't push the body shop too hard. It's like complaining at a restaurant; never know who's going to spit in your food. It looks like they're doing a great job so far!

Again,
Congrads on a teriffic find!

Truly a wonderful 69 Dodge Charger R/T

I LOVE that color too!

Do you guys really like the color? I thought I hated it but now you all are making me like it. I am restoring it to original with a white vinyl roof and delete stripe. I would like to have a black vinyl roof with the stripe. I have been waiting since 1/13 for the very efficient people at galan govier to get back to me, they might be related to the body shop. Lol

When debating if I wanted to keep my Charger original F3, I found a couple of pics in that shade with a white top and white stripe. In my opinion that combo looked 100 times better than ones with a black or green top. My Charger was originally F3, green top, black stripe. It did not have the original motor and needed a bunch of metal replacement, so I don't feel to guilty about changing things. Your car on the other hand was so solid and original that I think you made the right choice in keeping the F3.

Did some digging and found the car I was thinking about. It's a 68 that imo is the best looking light green example that I have ever seen.
