Well,

I know I have seen threads about this but I can`t seem to find them so I will ask for help from you guys. I put a petronics kit with a new coil in my 66 poly witch is stock , starts great also did the timing but it seems to stumble from a stop . rechecked timing and still not quite just right.Motor is original but for the years is in pretty good shape tried advancing the timing but did not help only got worse.Adjusted the carb and got better but not as it was .Open to any good feedback thanks.

Do you have 12 volts going to the coil and ignitor and not running through the ballast resistor?

Great minds think alike 68chicken!

I retained my ballast resistor for original look.... but I gutted it and soldered a 12ga wire inside of it.

I have a poly and run it through the ballast with no problem,i called pertonics and they recommened the ballast

Wow, I'm positive the instructions for my pertronics unit , just recently purchased, says to make sure it gets 12vts directly. Mine works perfectly.

Per Petronics instructions it says with out a new coil run it through the resister and with one of their coils remove the resister , so I will have to call and see what they say.I go out of town for work Monday for two weeks so when I get back I will see what happens. thanks again

I have the ignitor 2 in my 65 and have removed the ballast. I am running a stock Mopar coil with it.

I have the 1st ignitor with the matching Pertronix coil and don't use the ballast resistor. The only issue I had was the car came with a cheap dist. cap and I wound up replacing it with a cap with brass contacts.

DId you convert your charging system to a dual field electronic voltage regulator setup? If not the old points based systems can cause the electronic ignition to be flakey at idle and lower RPMs
