Since my car is basically tore completely apart at the moment I decided I might as well convert it to AC. So what is the best way to go about this. Would like to take care of anything that needs to be done on the inside when I'm putting my interior back in that way I don't have to go back. Finding Mopar parts around here is next to impossible. Also not really concerned about it looking factory or not just want to stay cool. Thanks

Classic Auto Air. Tampa, Florida.

Guy on Ebay has a b body unit for sale. You'll need to drill 3 holes in your firewall. 2 for the A/C lines and one for the drain.

Better or comparable to Vintage Air's kits? Around the same price I think, ~$1400. Easy to install for the home mechanic? Looks like only make an E-body kit, not B-body though.

On the cheap end, Nostalgic AirPart's kit is only $600: http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/ai...t-mopar-vehicles-select-an-evaporator-548.php
Install easy per my tech. Classic Auto Air has been ice cold and reliable for 7 years. R134.
At the time it was the only game in town for b body. The Vintage bought more recently for my friends 'Cuda has a little better distribution.

Also is there any issue with compressor hood clearance with a 440 and the air grabber hood? If anybody has this combo I would like to know. Thought I saw some where they didn't offer this combination but was wanting to find out for myself.

Can't answer that but you reminded me that on the 'Cuda w/Shaker he mounted the Sanden compressor low on the passenger side. It is not noticed, looks clean and like a non AC car.

The only mounting bracket I have found to mount the compressor low is this. http://www.bpeusa.com/BPE4715.asp But not to excited about the price of $159.95 just for a bracket.

Unless your a finatic about being original converting a non-A/C car to a factory A/C car is a step into the world of sleepless nights......everything has to be changed, dash harness, all the A/C & Heater ducts need to be changed, a/c/heater box changed, vacume lines added, different controls, etc...all the under hood parts, piping, ductwork, harnesses, cutting holes in the dash,etc.....get the picture here.....best to go with any of the aftermarket systems, Vintage Air, Classic Air, etc.....all made to add A/C to a non A/C vehicle without all the problems.......they work better too.....

I used Vintage Air on my 63 Fury and am very happy with it and yes, it's a convertible. Yesterday was 107* and it's well on its way there today.
