Wow. Looks like you could put it in a press and then run it.

That is one of the coolest wall hangers ive ever seen.

Hey look!! The rod is doing the WAVE.

I've seen that before, This service manager where I used to work, decided he was going to steam clean a customers engine. By the time he was finished there we're 6 of those in a big block Chevy Blazer. Now that I think about it, that was in 1980. :thinker: I'm old.

Put it in a vice and get a bar on the end, should be good to run lol. I saw that in a service manual I have from the 70s. Straitening out con rods.

i still see people on these internet websites telling people to trickle water thru the carb to clean out carbon in the chambers. we haven't progressed much.

Well, if you trickle the water in while the rpm is up some, it works.

And yeah the 6 pack rods are strong. The problem with them is that the rod bolts were the same size as the LY rods and they couldn't take the extra weight of the big rod and failed at high rpm.

That is amazing. I'd like to see the rod bearing and piston too. I'll bet the piston is heavily scuffed.

Exactly. A set of LY rods fitted with 7/16" ARP rod bolts would be a lot better, (that's what I have in my Coronet's mild 440).
That's perfect now you can get a lighter non performance robbing rod in there

Eagle H-Beams are the best for strength and price! They don't weigh as much as a six pack rod, and are way stronger with stronger ARP bolts. As long as you "Stretch" the rod bolts
instead of torquing them, they will last.

1st thing i did with my 6pk motor was remove them keep 2 to hang with 2 of the hemi rods, BEST place for them anchors is on the wall.....
