Just found this forum and thought I would post on here about my Roadrunner. Bought it new in June of '68. It was sitting on the Plymouth dealers lot in Shakopee, Mn., Brambilla Motors, and I had to have it. My dad had to buy it for me as I was only 20 at the time.

My wife and I got married in August '68 and took it on our honeymoon to Yellowstone and was that fun driving a hot muscle car all that way. By 1977 we had 4 kids and the old Roadrunner was getting small for the family so I bought a new '77 Chevy Impala wagon and was that a let down from driving the Roadrunner. I kept the Roadrunner in a garage here on the farm and in '87 a friend and I pulled the engine out and put everything new into it that needed it. It had 102,000 miles on it at that time and it now has 106,000.

It has the 383 high performance with Hurst 4 speed and still goes very good down the road. It has some rusted out spots due to the salt they use here in Mn. I just put new tires on, got insurance and put some seat belts back in that the wife cut out years ago. I would like to take it to some roll in's locally so that is why the re-newed interest in it.

I was to RT Restoration shop in Belle Plaine, Mn. and he told to look for a build sheet under the seat, and I thought if my wife cut the seat belts out of it years ago, that there would be no build sheet left any place. So when I got home I looked under the passengers seat and sure enough there it was, and I guess that is a good thing to have. He also said it is odd to have that color scheme, black with white seats and maroon dash and headliner.

I had a nice '62 Impala SS 327 with auto. It was silver with red interior and bucket seats and I had full chrome wheels on it, I still wish I had that one.
