Classic Industries - buyer beware

While we are talking about Classic, they need to fix a mistake in their catalog. Under their Mopar Model Identification they show the 65B as the same platform as the 66-7. 65 is the same platform as 62-4 and 66-7 is the same as 68-70. Should read 62-65 and 66-70 for B-bodies.
If you want to win over the **** Mopar community you need to know your poop.

Thanks moparmarks,

We will take a look at this and get it corrected next time we print.

Since we're on the topic of continual improvement with Classic, one thing I'd like to mention is the speed of their website. Very very very slow.....like worse than dial up slow. If a guy has to do a search because he doesn't have a part# on hand, it can take 10-15 minutes just to find it. Not because of a poor search engine, but just because it takes that long for 4 or 5 different pages to load. A word to the wise........In that same time, I can probably find 5-6 other places that sell the same part I maybe searching for on Classic, and probably a bit cheaper-or free shipping on top of that. Not to say I buy completely off price, but there are a lot of people that do. In this day and age, convenience and price sells before loyalty and patronage. Sad but true.

Thanks for the comment Propwash,

A new website is in development and will be launched very soon. It will alleviate this issue with speed and will also include a host of other new features to make ordering online more convenient.

Summit does sell some restoration parts for our cars. I ordered an exhaust system and roof rail seals from them and was completely satisfied. I don`t think that they stocked the seals as it took them a while to arrive. Parts look great! Price was good! Shipping was free! If I can get it from Summit I will!

Yeah I haven't checked them for mopar restoration parts yet but i did notice they recently started carrying OPG products for Chevy, etc. Just watch, Summit's gonna become the Wal-Mart supercenter of car parts lol

And yeah I'd be willing to bet those items are all dropshipped from the manufacturer. Cool they gave you free shipping though, I've always thought their shipping charges were reasonable

Hey, no sweat. Just calling it like I see it as a consumer. Good to hear about the revamp.

Hi Moparmarks,

Checked this out in our catalog. I understand what you mean about the 65's being built on the previous platform. We know that, but I believe the chart is just illustrating what model names were used for the various years because of all the monkey business with the model names going from 330, 440, Polara in 62-64 to Coronet in 65. If you notice, The Plymouth B-Body chart is the same way, illustrating how Savoy, Fury, Sport Fury, Belevedere moved to Satellite and GTX model names in later years.

We have a lot of customers who are confused about whether their car is a A-Body, B-Body, E-Body, etc. You'd be surprised how many 1965 & later Fury owners think they have a B-Body car. Anyway. Thank you for the comment. We will take it into consideration and see if we can design a chart that illustrates the changes in model names AND changes in platform.

My only complaint was the time it took to get my stuff, I order 2 stickers and some sunvisor tips took over a week on stuff that was in stock. Summit and Jegs have the best turn around time ive ever experienced.
