Am I best to buy my AMD panels direct from AMD or from Summit Racing ?
Summit prices for the panels I need are better than from AMD. The cost of freighting the panels to a Calf. location is also less. I sent an email to AMD asking their advice , but have had no reply.
I know Summit buys in bulk so can offer good prices, but hard to believe than can beat the manufacturer.
Any feed back much appreciated.

Check with Jeff@ 521 Restorations. He's a great guy with great prices on AMD stuff. Mention Bbodies only and he will give you a further discount from his website. He will be cheaper than Summit.

Dave @ Roseville has been good to deal with..........

x2 for Jeff. He has always treated me well.

X3, another vote for Jeff, great pricing and always a painless transaction start to finish.

X4 on Jeff @521. Super great guy to deal with. And like mentioned, FBBO member discount.

Fantastic feed back guys, really appreciate it. From 72RoadrunnerGTX's photo it looks like Jeff sends parts well packed. Only trouble with living outside of USA is that the more boxes , the more I pay if freight. In the photo it looks like Jeff got lots of parts in a small area, perfect.
Thanks again, tony.

Just to be clear, that large order, 32 different part numbers, was drop shipped directly from AMD. It was very well packaged, no damage found, so well it took me a little while to find the smaller parts that had been tucked inside one of the larger prepackaged boxes.

You E-mailed AMD for there advice on where to purchase there stuff????

Really? Really? Seriously REALLLLLLLY?!?!?!

MFG's offer discount pricing to vendors so they will distribute their stuff... If you cant make money selling Company A's stuff why sell it for them?

In addition some MFG's don't really want to sell to the general public. Its a lot easier/cheaper to sell to a distributor/vendor and not have to deal with the public

Summit on ebag offers free shipping, haven't found it cheaper than that.. but I will compare it to rockauto and get back to you

roackauto does not offer AMD that I could find ( they carried Sherman) or a while lot of sheet-metal to begin with

Don't know about 521, he has them listed at the same price as Summits website at 179 but with 125 or 175 shipping for a floor pan... Summit is free shipping with 189 on it on ebag.

I was surprised that Summit would be that low on AMD shipped but they might be the mark to beat on AMD right now.

Thanks 99ss, excellent explanation. I like to research before I part with my hard earned money and you have helped me greatly.

Call jeff, let him know you are a member and you will get a 10% discount. Don't go throught AMD or summit. you will pay through the roof, and if you ship to a local business or shop it is cheaper also.

He will also take an additional 2% off if you pay with a cashiers check instead of a credit card.

All that discounting only represents $24.... free shipping far outweighs the discount.. If 521 will price match then I would say go there as the small guy always needs help.. This country is built for big business and they always have the advantage

I'm not sure if this is X6 or X7 for Jeff (521 Restorations). I just purchased from him and he was great to deal with and very helpful :icon_thumright:!!

Read the fine print on Summit's shipping policy. I ordered a rear floor pan from them that stated free shipping when I checked out. When I got my invoice email, it stated that a freight charge would apply because it is shipped from the supplier (AMD).
