His smart phone didn't give him enough warning. I guess it's not that smart (either the phone or the driver) after all.
 
That's a wreck from 2005. Originally had nothing to do with texting. The wholettexting story started popping up about a year ago. Guy must have been moving hard when he hit, as the car just sheared off. News story is out there. Still a terrible wreck.

That wreck may not have been from texting, but there're a ton of wrecks, that are caused by all the idiots on their damn cell phone, that do, especially "texting while driving" or many other various stupid injury related incidents, because they aren't looking or let alone paying attention to where they are going, walking, riding or let alone while driving... Put the damn cell phone down idiots, pay attention to what the hell is going on around you, there is "far more to life", than a damn cell phone.... my $0.02 cents

the whole damn world is walking around, just staring at a damn phone or texting, while life just passes them by....
 
I agree, I use my phone still. But I try to keep it to a minimum while in public, and not while walking around. It really looks dumb

This is SO true. Last night at a fine restaurant with my wife & son, I glanced at the table next to us while conversing. The family (man, woman, & daughter apparently) were EACH sitting with their I-phones in front of their faces, finger-tapping at it, while ignoring the others. As I nodded to their direction, I said thank God we're not like that.

The other day I was driving on a four lane highway and something had traffic backed up. As I got closer to the "problem" I noticed not one, but two cars in the left lane going slow and weaving all over the place. Both drivers were busy texting (probably to each other).
I wonder if they tried to blame the truck driver for being in the way, parked on the shoulder of the road.

I defeated text messages from My phone and obviously don't/won't text. I think is SO STUPID. People yak on the phone and text just to pass the time with small talk. Get a life ! If I need to contact someone...I'll call...I use about a hundred minutes a month at the most. Urgent and emergency only.
