I used the Rustoleum Satin French Lilac for my horn, and I must say, it turned out pretty sweet! at less than 4 bucks for the rattle-can app.

Is that it in your pic ? It certainly looks good. Years ago, I mixed my own formula & sprayed the enamel as needed. Recently, I just got lazy & bought a can.

I understand that hobby lobby has a model car section that sales the testor paints and they gave part number of 1234 in a can that is very close to the original beep beep horn paint i have seen a example looks very good.

That's what I used!

i have seen so many variants of this purple paint on others horns, and decided to go the cheapo way. the sticker on the horn cost more than the can of paint!
btw, WileERobby, that is the finished horn in that pic. it was very easy to remove the old deteriorating paint.

Saw this post a while back and now that my horn is sitting on my workbench I figured it could use some attention... Unfortunately the Satin French Lilac that 69roadr used is only available in the U.S. home depots and I don't really have any hobby shops in my area (at least that I know of)

Any advice on what and where you guys have used to match up this colour especially anyone on the Canada side would be awesome

Mike

Thanks Photon! Looks like a couple local shops show up just hoping they're still open/exist! Hell this town is full of hippies and granola's it should be crawling with hobby shops!

saw this when I was looking for hobby shops

"I was told by a local hobby store owner that the Testor Paint #1234 has been discontinued (he was out and informed me they can't order anymore). If you find that color (purple) buy a can! Another older store had older stock so I bought 2 cans of the Testor #1234 purple. Model/hoby paint is moving to water soluble to meet Canadian environemental guidelines"
