i didnt see a fuel and air section so i thought id post this here. I want peoples oppinions on these 2 carbs i currently own a TQ but im really curious to know what peoples experiences are with the tq style street demon are..... AAAANNNNN GOOOOO! lol.

There is someone on FABO that has gotten one a d is doing a thread on it now.

thanks for that i did find it but it didnt really answer the question (or i found the wrong one) all i found was a guy wanting to know which was better a street demon or a holly or something else that i dont remember... no comparison to the tq tho. maybe i looked at the wrong posting? you have a link?

Does the Demon have annular or dog leg boosters? The annular boosters are good to about 6000 RPM but provide great low RPM power. It all depends on the application.

i bought 2 625 street demons to run a dual quad, but they dont fit together on the edelbrock ch28 intake, just sold them both yesterday, i have heard many good things about them.

here is some reviews.

some people will say they are junk because barry grant was working with demon for a while and there was a few carbs coming out with problems, but barry grant had nothing to do with these carbs.

No users yet?

Just had a dyno run on my 440 with the 800 Thunder AVS. Long story short the carb is as lean as the charts will take it and the A/F ratio is still pretty high. Going down to the smallest rods and jets made 15 hp alone and it's still not right.

They recomend going to a 750 Holley style with mechanical secondaries but the street demon looks interesting from the drivability side.

Time to break out the drill bits and start in on drilling the jets out.
Must be a beefy 440 build.

According to Edelbrocks chart I am running the SMALLEST rods and jets and I am too rich. It only allows for 3 stages leaner then is base calibration and I'm there.

At this point I'd suggest a different carb all together.

Oh! My bad, mix jetting kits for a leaner mix. The kit they say to use for tuning there carbs allows for only so much. The older kits by Carter in lured a mix where some rods were bigger than the jet holes

Though I agree a smart carb is probably better, maybe? Build dependent of course.

You should listen to who told you to run a 750 Holley. The advantage to this one or the Race Demon 750 is tune-ability, plus with front and rear accelerator pumps you will be able to deliver all the fuel your engine wants.

I have a 850 speed demon on mine and I like it never gives me any probems

Ummm, you guys do realize he is talking about the "New" carb that is a hybrid style Demon carb split between a Carter AVS and a TQ right. Not the Holley style BG's.

I was referring to post #6. Regardless, the carters and eddys don't have enough pump or bowl volume for a performance setup(unless used as 2-4s) IMO

thanx 71 duster, dennis h, rumblefish360, and mr. b! everything you guys have posted has given me plenty of information and the more i find out abt these carbs..... the more ive gotta have one... that is if i cant tune my thermoquad to match my setup lol. thanks again guys!
