Hi,

I am restoring a Plymouth Road Runner 68 and had my grill re-chromed. Now I need to paint it "the cells". Does anybody have detailed pictures which parts of the grill have to be painted? As far as I know, the color was dark gray and not black, right?

Thanks,
Thorsten

The grille was actually never chromed so I hope you weren't trying to go original but it should look good either way. The center squares were a dark argent which is a kind of a dark silver color with texture. The top and bottom were just polished.

Aren't the supports above, below and between the squares painted black.....

Uh-oh, the grille was never chromed? Then I will have the chrome removed and then start to polish the top and bottom. From the squares I have only one picture from the front side and I do not know if this is original. If you increase it in the viewer, I think it looks brighter than black:

Were the connections between the squares and the top and the bottom also painted?

Many thanks for the information and the picture!
