Accelarator pedal / carpet

Hi,

doing a bare to the metal restoration on my 68 Road Runner I started the carpet installation. From several threads in this great forum, I have learned that the accelerator pedal is located in the upper right corner of the heel pad but I could not find any pictures, showing "the rest" of the accelarator hardware (the parts holding the throttle cable. Are they completely on top of the carpet or partly under the carpet?

they are partly under, you'll cut the carpet so it doesn't interfere with your accelerator movement. I just cut the carpet around the bracket arm that moves up and down so my carpet is covering the actual bracket below the arm.
