Has anyone put the 72RR N96 deck stripes on a 73-74? My 73satellite has a black vinyl top and I'm thinking with a striped bulge hood the rear deck stripes may go well. Thoughts?
Tough call on that one, I tend to like to RR with the stripe kit on the bulge hood only if the car has a vinyl roof, if roof is just paint then I like the whole stripe kit.
One thing I did once with a vinyl roof RR was ad the Superbird "PLYMOUTH" decal to the back quaters..the decals are like 10"x32"

That's a hard call. Whatever you do, it won't "look right" to people who really know these cars, but that's okay. The real question is will it look good? I've seen some really bizarre stripe jobs, but I've never seen a vinyl top with the trunk stripes.
My rule of thumb is if you have something on the rear deck, you should have it repeated on the hood. In this case you'll have totally different stripes between the front and back, so it won't looked balanced. But like Mikey said, it's your car. You might want to snag an AMT kit and try painting the stripes on that to see how they'll look.
I've seen vinyl top cars with the tank tread stripes on the front, and (the worst) was a car where they put the 73/74 stripes on but ran the sail panel part of the stripe up to the bottom of the vinyl top line and then cut it off. It looked hideous.
I think you'll find you won't like the mix of wide stripes on the rear and narrow stripes on the hood. It's going to look like you put halves of two different cars together, but who knows.
