Discussion today Me vs. Prius Owner

I've only seen one Prius in a wreck, and in addition to the cops, fire fighters, and ambulance crew, there were also two HAZMAT crews on the scene cleaning up the damage from the batteries.

I have similar discussions with the same types who want paper bags at the grocery store. When I tell them plastic bags are easilly recyclable, break down into powder in landfills within a few years, and require less energy to produce; while paper bags require trees to be cut down, last forever in landfills, require three times the energy to produce, and can't be economically recycled, they run off too.
The city I live in recycles and this year, they said no more plastic bags....but they still take paper. It's made into insulation.

And for the liberal greenies, I just tell them they need to do more research and quit drinking the coolaid...and to piss off.

There was an earlier post of someone stating that we all need to replace our internal combustion engines with electric, but sorry that will NEVER happen with me or my kids. I have taught them well. They want a "real" car, not some electric POS. None of their friends drive any of those cars or even want one, never seen any at cruise nights or car shows................

With the pictures added to that post (i.e. Nuclear plants specifically Three Mile Island" I'm pretty sure it was sarcasm)

I wish I was that quick to respond "excellent job educating the retard".

yeah, i guess chargerguy missed the sarcasm there :)

The only way they will get me in a electric car is if the hearse i happened to be riding in to the cemetery is electric :laughing6:

In 50 years who would want to restore a prius? Our cars will still be desireable.

Fact : Prius owners are some of the rudest drivers its been proven

I did miss the sarcasm at first, but hit the enter key too soon. I'm usually a patient, laid back kinda guy, but when our cars and hobby are being attacked from people (not referring to anybody on this site) who don't get their facts right, I come out "firing with both barrels blasting". I have loved cars, engines ever since grade school when I had to wear my "gears and wheels" shirt for first grade pictures.

I hear ya! I can be the same too.... She caught me on a good day when I was willing to assert my opinions on her in a polite manner... There's certain things that irk me too though and I get pretty snappy

Prius
i r pus

There, fixed it for you.

Nice! you practically are! I was reading through your build thread the other day.. will this be primarily brought to Cayuga?

Yeah, hoping to have it done in March so I can take full advantage of test n tunes. Bring your car out one weekend, I will need all the help I can get tuning the belvie

Great for you !!! Can someone make up a good flyer we can print off. I would like to keep some in my car. I would like to have them around and maybe just drop some in green cars for no reason at all and especially ones that talk crap.

I know in some of my debates with the tree huggers in the Seattle area, I usually derail them by asking them how many kids they have.

No offense to those that do have them (I admit to having none and not wanting any), but taking the supposedly higher moral ground regarding my car and 'carbon foot print' when they've popped out 3 or more kids...who in turn will want and need homes, heat, electricity, along with all the other 'usuals' needed by living carbon units (air, water, food), it a bit of a hippocritical stance IMO.

I know personally I was recycling LONG before it was fashionable, cool or mandated and before it was ad easy as it is now.

Me too, recycling cans, bottles, plastics, oil etc., it's a good thing, easy enough to do & it get some beer $$$ too... Most of the people that complain about us car folks, they are probably the biggest hypocrites & polluter's, how about their larger houses {mostly all wood framed}, or how about their hardwood cabinets {cutting down all them trees}, or their clear hearth old growth redwood decks {cutting down all the oxygen makers}, their composition roofs, their sewer or watershed from their all paved over, high dollar properties, the equipment it took to make all them same roads they drive on too, all the assembly or production processes to produce the so called "low footprint & so called environmentally friendly cars", that will ultimately be worse for the environment, than our old dinosaur burners are, when their beloved POS rolling toasters, like the Prius's or Leaf's or Volt's are wrecked or worn out & junked etc.

Your car is the utlimate green recycle. you didnt buy new which uses a lot of resources to make, when you figure in the carbon fuel it takes to ship, receive parts, tools, hoses bolts etc especially if they are imported, the carbon foot print is humongous, all the companies that are relied on to supply the car parts use fuel, electricity, which 80% is created using coal, water, create waste toxins, then you have all the workers using gas, making green house gasses just to get to work, beating up the roads now you have to repave, buying tires, hoses blah blah blah for their cars. The carbon foot print green house gas crap and so on and so on. Tell the prius owner to poor herself a big tall frosty glass of shut the f*%k up

If you can keep a straight face, telling them "I have a hybrid too - my car burns gasoline AND rubber!" usually results in a blank stare as they try to figure it out. Extra points if you can leave them in a cloud of rubber smoke!

I love messing with Prius owners. I've revved my engine next to 'em at a stoplight. So far I've had 6 dirty looks, 4 ignore me completely, 2 flip me off, and one woman laughed. I woulda proposed to her but I'm already taken. :)
