I have seen the posts about how to remove the lower chrome trim from the windshield but without ever seeing these clips before, I am not quite getting it. It says to depress the top or bottom clip to release it from the trim???? I cannot see the clips behind the trim so am not sure what I am doing. I took the trim screw off the end piece that wraps into the door jamb and got a screwdriver pushed about 4-5 inches under the trim from the end but still could not see any clips. I do not want to just keep prying or I will ruin the trim. Does anyone have any pictures of where these clips are located along the rail and how many there are? I would also love to see a picture of what these clips look like so I know what and where I am pressing on them. Just jabbing a screwdriver in there and hoping for the best makes me too nervous that I will ruin it. Plus as I have been going around the car assessing how I am going to remove all the trim, many of them are screwed in from hidden places. Are the screws on either end of the lower windshield trim the only screws holding it in? The rest these clips??

This would be a great one to have a video on. One mistake on these and your screwed.

You need a trim removal tool. It looks like an arrow. You take the overhanging edge of the arrow and use it to pull the clip outward. I don't have an up close picture of them on a car but here are what the clips look like. Do the sides and top trim first and then do the bottom afteward, its easier that way I have found. Trim removal tools make this really easy and are very cheap to buy. I think I paid $10 at harbor freight for mine.

Some of the clips have residual glue on them from the techs trying to seal the gasket. Aside from that you want to push the trim down with your hand while releasing the clip with the proper tool in the other hand. It takes practice and patience. Every now and then you will get lucky by finding a rusted out clip. They dont hold as good if at all. Please dont use a screw driver for trim removal. Although you can buy new trim it's expensive.
