Has anyone here ever started or did a restoration on a late model Cordoba? I have yet to see a thread on one here. Mine is tired and needs to be done.

didn't some body do one a while back

Here you go ... complete disassembly with pictures. Haven't looked closely in a while, so I'm not sure how far he's gotten with the resto/rebuild.

Here are my plans it won't a restoration back to factory but more of a restorification. I have to say I will be stealing a few ideas from Mopardik that I like. The Interior I have is going to all black with burnt orange accents, paint will be 08 Charger Daytona Mango (Burnt Orange) Cowl induction scoop will be added along with 18 in wheels. I have a 440/727 to go in. Here are a few pictures of the shape it is in now.

More of the interior. Seats are in bad shape so I am thinking something more modern.

I need to change this to a 140 speedo or I can use the speedo from my 74 Charger.

For a 78 and a NY car it has been well taken care of

and here I thought only 79s had the over/ under headlights, learn something new today. Looking forward to how you do this one up

Hey, OTR, you gonna sell off any of your interior stuff? I'm thinking specifically about those swanky door panels. I like them way better than the ones I have.

I don't know yet I have another set that is original to the car, I will have to see if they will take to dying. Remind me once I start on the interior.

I'm still gathering parts for my 440,also looking for another 727 to build mine is missing a lot of parts.

This my commuter car. When I tell people what it is they always, always ask "Does it have rich, Corinthian leather ?"

Gonna be cool OTR but I would leave the speedo. It's cool and different. BTW it is a 145 MPH and 240 KPH combo but I'm sure you know that.

I would like to find away to reverse it where the mph is on top and km/h was bottom.

Here's some interchangeability info looks like there are a few possibilities but i'm not that familiar with these models.

Yes, these 2 drs, 4 dr and wagons used the same basic setup, but I beleive that adds a couple new variations. Some of those other cars used a clock in the dash in place of where the optional tachometer went. This was not an option on the Cordoba (their clocks were mounted above the glove box). Plus when equipped in police trim, the Coronet/Monaco and Fury had a 120 mph speedometer.
120 MPH police speedo? The B bodies 1978 on down used a 140 MPH unit. The St Regis, etc. R body police vehicles had a 125 MPH speedometer I believe.

I have a fsm for electrical on my car so it should be easy to hook the tach up. I wonder how accurate the tach is?
