Jay brought by his recently purchased Yenko Stinger Corvair, the speedo was way out of calibration...whoever rebuilt it used the wrong ratio for the bench calibration.Jay Leno just came by our shop

Wow, now that is cool. A friend of mine used to hang out with him before his Tonight Show gig. Never heard a bad word said about him, which says a lot.

Cool never liked him in the early days of the tonight show so I quit watching but I do like him on car shows or talking about and showing off his collection. He's doing just about exactly what I'd do if I were able to afford it.

Very cool! I almost ran him over with a hand cart full of parts at the Spring Fling event in Van Nuys. I was trucking along looking more at the ground then out in front and pretty soon I find myself staring at a pair of shoes. I look up and it's Jay. I said "oh, hey there" and he replies something like "hey" and we went on our way.

Awesome. His late night stuff isn't my thing, but "Jay's Garage" brought me around. Seems like a stand up guy, and I always use him as an excuse to the wife for my car mania. As in "Look, honey. I may be buying another car, but at least I don't have hundreds like Leno..."

He does have a regular crew at his shop in Burbank (3 miles away) but nobody there does gauges...so either I go there to pick up and drop off, or he'll swing by.
Danny "Machete" Trejo came by today.....we do his Chevy gauges.
and sooooo -- you suggested he become a member here RIGHT??????????????????????????????

It would be cool, to talk/post with either of them here... True car guys, are just that, "car guys", no matter how famous or rich they are... I once heard Jay Leno say, the reason why he got into stand up comedy or show business, "was to be able to afford & drive the cool cars" & it just escalated from there... Comedians, Tim Allen & Christopher Titus are big-time car guys too...
