not my cup of tee, but i seen this at the dodge dealer the other day. it sticker d around mid 40's. the front isn't to bad but they needed to change up the rear and the wheels so it doesn't look so much like a challenger. i don't know, maybe it should have just been left on the drawing board....

yeah maybe a different color too, looks too much like a Jacked up Challenger with a nose & wing just stuck on it, I've seen a few different colors that looked much better, stance would need to be changed too...

yea, i like the gold one. the one at the dealer did sit like a truck.. i think the daytona thing makes more sense too since the car is a dodge.

I don't think you can bring back the past like that, the wing is just trying too hard. BUT, I do like the front end.

The title of this thread shouild read; Bastardised Superbird Challenger Thingy.

That thing is an abomination.

IMO they look better than the 40 foot long originals

Hey, look! A "superbird" I can afford!

Kinda cool IMHO, but not cool enough to buy.

yeah :iamwithstupid: but at-least the originals had some racing history/prowess behind the car design too, the new cars don't... BUT you never know !!, they could end up being the ultimate collectable car from this era... Collector Car Buyers/investors are a fickle'd bunch... I wish I had a crystal ball...LOL... Remember even the originals didn't sell very well at all either, they weren't liked/accepted by the general buying public either... They were built to meet sales rules for NASCAR... I've read an article, where there were dealerships turning a couple of them into RR's, just so they could sell even them, get them out of inventory... personally I love the 69 Daytona's & 70 Superbird's, these are growing on me, very slowly thou, I wouldn't mind having the Petty Version, I'd drive the piss out of it....

personally, I think the newer version is butt-ugly..but since we own a "copy" of the 69 Daytona, guess I'm a little biased. I see the new ones at shows all over...they look worse in person....

I probably won't be alive in 20 years to see what the new version will bring money-wise...and I really don't give a crap either way

Richard Petty builds these! He had a display at the Mopar Nats in Columbus, Ohio this past August.

Now Richard...how DARE you! Don't you know it's THEIR car to do what ever THEY want to do with it and to HELL what anyone else thinks? If THEY want to customize it to THEIR choice, who are you to criticize THEM?

(sarcasm off)

;)

Why Superbird on a Dodge car?? Do they really think that people forgot Plymouth was taken away from us?

:iamwithstupid: here a couple they were contemplating, under the Chrysler, Dodge or SRT badge that were my beloved Plymouths originally...

Everybody is out to capture the 2005 Mustang lightning in a bottle, but most just don't get it. You can get old farts interested in a name! If your car can't be easily mistaken for the real deal (2005+ Mustang, Challenger V2, etc.), just reusing the name, ala the Dart II, isn't going to bring in droves of high-end buyers. The proposed Cuda V2 and the Road Runner above have some styling cues in common, but don't really look enough like the originals to drive sales.
