Y1 keeps sending me 30% off codes, and I'm tempted to buy seat covers for my 73 Satellite.

If they are Legendary, then I'm in, but if not, then I think I'm out, and will wait for Garlits, even though I can't locate ANY info for Legendary dealers in FL or GA.

I'd love to order them, and pick them up at Garlits.

Thanks as always.

i would ask them directly before assuming.

for ledgendary i would go thru dante's parts
he does run some special deals a few times a year

If you want to save money and get legendary quality. Call Dante's Mopar parts. he gives a stout discount you will never get from year one.

A lot of times when they send out those discounts things like seat covers are discount exempt so be sure to ask up front before ordering.

Agree with the others that Dante's is the place to go for Legendary stuff.

Thanks.

There a LOT of the same info on the Y1 site regarding skirt and insert grain, that I've seen on the Legendary site.
The part numbers are similar, but don't cross reference.

I don't see that info on sites like PUI or PG.

I really dislike the practice of withholding information (like manufacturer) from customers :(

There were two part numbers for the rear (with the exact same description).
One was exempt, one was not!

The Y1 site is actually a little less confusing than the Legendary site.
I sure wish Legendary would get their site together.

That 30% would have been $200 off the front and rear covers!

All the covers that folks have brought me to install that they purchased from YO were made by PUI. They look nice when installed, but i do a lot of cutting and sewing to compensate for their short comings so they look proper. The folks at legendary are extremely helpful on the phone and are happy to assist you in every way they can. When I deal with them I always ask about a competitive price. Even if i had to pay full retail, i figure if i have any problems i do not have to go through a middle man. And still the end result is only as good as the actual seat frame and foundation permit it to be.

i would expect yo to sell the dirt cheapest cover they can get thier hands on.

the only thing they have worth buying is thier wiring harness's
after that,
anything else they have can be found somewhere else for alot less
if you shop around even with a 30% off coupon..lol

Stay away from pui or pg. who makes them? call legendary they will tell ys. I got a complete set of legendary from Classic last xmas and saved a bundle on the holiday sale, I even got seat foams with the wire built in for the 73/74 buttons. but I went with the 71/72 because I heard storys of the buttons catchinf on driver/passenger clothing and getting ripped off. My upholstry guy did a great job on assembly and they are just like new

You know, I had heard a lot of negative comments and reviews about PUI, but I just learned one of my friends put PUI in his 69 Sat vert. I saw them for the first time at the Lake Mirror show Saturday.

They look pretty good. Not the best shot here, though-

I was checking Dantes site & they had a good deal on Ledgendary stuff!!! Front & rear seat covers, front & rear door panels, the headliner, and carpet for $1050.00
That's the direction I plan on going. I started to buy some cheaper stuff but I heard a lot of complaints from others. You get what you pay for.

OK, does anyone have pics of PUI installed in a 72-74?

I'm still leaning toward Legendary, but after seeing my bud's car, I like the way the PUI's turned out.

I priced Legendary on Classic Industries, and it was the exact same SRP as the Legendary site, and they wouldn't show you shipping until you created an account. Because it was over $500 for the fronts and rear, there was 5% discount.

I have done automobile interiors for well over forty years, so I have been around before most of the reproduction places started making covers. At the start of their production pui were made better than they are today. Their most recent covers I installed were made very inferior to the original covers I replaced. The thickness of the vinyl and the foam padding was much thinner, the listing around the perimeter has a flimsy fiber insert sewn into it as dose the actual listing that hog rings into the seat bolsters ( these are suppose to have actual wire to hold the seams strait). When the fiber filled ones are fastened to the seat cushions they cause a dimple to show at every place a hog ring is installed (looks crappy to a pro). Also all the press pleated seats that are heat sealed instead of being sewn turn loose in the southern sunlight. I have other issues with them not included here as well. The quality of vinyl is determined by the actual weight of the fabric per yard (54 inches wide x 36 inches long in the trim industry is normally the way fabric is sold). I normally have to replace the listings on all the covers supplied to me by my customers that supply me with pui covers, me repairing them voids the guarantee but they look and fit much better after the repair. Unfortunately when I have to modify the covers I have to charge for the repairs so the cost increase would off set the price of the better quality covers to start with. I'd buy the good covers if I planed to keep my car. Same thing applies to convertible tops as well, used car special verses a quality top. I refuse to install the cheaper tops on any bodies car because I feel like it is a waste of both time and money to install inferior products on any classic or collectable rides. If you value your car and your money buy the best covers you can get for your money. Sorry this is so long but I am giving you this information from my own personal experiences.

Thanks for sharing.

I normally don't care for classic's customer service or pricing. what made the diff was the Xmas sale, then I did see a big savings.I can'treally talk about pui on seat covers, but when I bought my window sweeps the outside was fine. The insides were made wrong and when I called them they said "well yeah we know that, but that's the way we make them" So that was the last thing I'll buy from them. They knew thier product was wrong and basicly said so sad too bad.
Dante? Had a problem with a part and he bent over backwards to make it right, He even got rem to re tool and make a better fitting product. I can not say enough GOOD things about Dante. Him and Cuda Chick are the best of the best

trimmer it could have been 4 times as long and I would read every word carefully. You packed some good honest feedback into what you did type and I appreciate it. I prize information and personal opinion from professionals who have been there and done that for a living and most especially something like interior product quality.

Go with Legendary, I originally had a set from Year One, and once I got them, I knew I couldn't put those in my car, confirmed when the legendary ones arrived, and completely noticeable difference in quality of materials and workman ship. They also did my upper door panels, and they look just like they came off the assembly line. You wont regret using Legendary.

Yeah, Year One's seat covers are for sure PUI. I ordered a bunch of stuff from them when they had one of their 30% off sales and seat covers were one of the items I ordered. I had read around before ordering and everything I found said that Year One was still sending out Legendary... That was before I joined this site and apparently those posts were old. The ones I received are PUI. I installed the covers this last week and they look pretty good but as described already, but they aren't perfect. Then again, I am nothing if not an amateur at installing upholstery (I've done 4 sets now). I just went ahead and used them since I had them and didn't want to wait for who knows how long to get Legendary's. I really think they look pretty good and fit about as good as they could, considering... I think they ran me about $280.

These are for my 72 Satellite Sebring Plus / RR cloner. This was taken right after I had "finished" the first seat just to show a friend. I have since been able to work some more of the wrinkled areas out. They really look pretty decent in person and were a snap to install. I'm sure you guys doing restos on big money cars will prefer to go the Legendary route.

Hope this helps.

YR1 uses various vendors. Legendary is one, and PUI is another. They will typically go with whichever vendor has the better deal. I used to work there.
