Does anyone here use a 22" aluminum radiator that works on a 500 HP 440? I need to change out my radiator in my 1965 satillite.
it is a 3 core 26" may be partialy pluged. The opening is as you may know is for the 22" radiator thats why im leaning this direction but im open to suggestions. I would like to use the 18" chrystler steel 7 blade fan also Im told it should work well with a shroud properly fit.

I ran a 26 inch on a 22 inch opening with a 498 stroker motor...champion/aluminum/easy install....219.00

I plan on running a 22" radiator from Wizard Cooling. I gave them a call and they said it would be fine on my build with a 630HP 440 in a 1964 Dodge 440. They suggested an integrated shroud and electric fans all for around $550 shipped if I remember correctly.

I also ordered a 22" from Wizard Cooling with upgraded 1.25" cores for my 522/525hp Crate Stroker. With this I did purchase the shroud with 4 -9" integrated fans. I spoke with Tom in sales and he was very helpful when selecting the rad for my application.

Not sure about the price HorryMorry listed my invoice is right in front of me I paid $579 for the upgraded rad, $430 for the shroud ($100 cheaper than listed on their website) and $90 for the 4 fan wiring harness.

I know the price is steep but this is a fully brazed TIG welded unit that is finished to show quality if that's what you're looking for

I really like the quality of there radiators but, I believe I am going with a regular 18" steel chrystler fan and shroud. I also like smiths radiators they are just a bit more money though quality looks the same.

Moparcrazy thanks for the link I like the appearance of there radiators very nice I will give this one a lot of thought.

Try Cool Craft web-site. they have a wide selection of oem looking rads. if i have to buy one for my 65 thats where i will get it. i like the orig. look. just my $.02 John

I have had no luck with a 22" rad and my 512 stroker. I do like the Wizard setup though. However I may just use my existing rad and have a shroud built for 4 9" SPAL fans. I know I have enough flow on the highway. It's the stop and go that is giving me issue. Bigger and more fans should fix that though.

I have been using one from Summit Racing for the last four years in a 64 Dodge. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-380428/overview/ Has worked great, cooling a street/strip 440 and a 13:1 512 so far. Only issue at first was a fancy aluminum shroud I had with two 10 inch electrics. Couldn't keep temps under 200. Finally ditched the shroud for a single 16 inch electric problem solved. Used cradle brackets from Summit on the bottom http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-380100 and secured with a single tab up top. The core is just over 22.0" wide so fits the opening nice... Sounds like you are looking for more of an original looking bolt in style. There are some nice choices out there these days. Good luck...

There web site shows none for the early b body's so maybe I should call to see whats up. Thanks Lenny

I've got a northern, works just fine.

Wow! thats a nice looking set up and cools that motor at what temperature are you running?

Actually have not run it yet. Waiting on steering columns to return. It holds more fluid than the other I pulled out and with the manual switch I have I can already tell the fans move more air, so I am quite confident my cool issues will be a thing of the past.

My numbers 383 Magnum

Now a 432 Stroker

Repop 22" Radiator , recore 3 rows a long long time ago and kept things between 180-190 degrees at all times for many years

High flow 180 degree thermostat

Factory shroud

Anyways Doesn’t cut the mustard anymore - 195 - 200 degrees creeping towards 210 at idle with this 432 motor and temps here in WI isn’t summer yet

Anyways thinking about ordering a Wizards 22" with both inlet and outlet on the drivers side

They show 15% off online with free shipping over $500

Good investment ?

Check ECP and Cold Case, might save ya cash.

Tough sell with both inlet and outlet on the drivers side 22" with mounting a factory shroud to boot

So far I see Wizards and US Radiator
