So, what do us "Gray-Beards" listen to?

Well I've got gray hair and I'm beardless, does that count? I listen to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir most of the time.

HAHA Tonka

My old standards:

Yep, beard is pretty gray at 48.9726 yrs old. Like Dennis H I find myself listening to the same AM station now. Music wise I'll list some of my top favorites. This is not a complete list but bands that have withstood the test of time with me as well as some new arrivals to my collection: Neil Young; Allman Bros; The Dead; Jefferson Starship; Sabbath; Judas Priest; Kenny Wayne Sheppard; Eagles; Joe Walsh; Love; Dio; Scorpions; Fleetwood Mac; Doors; Lawrence Juber; Albert Lee; Deep Purple and good blues.

I forgot Muddy Waters on my list & yes I'm getting more & more grey in my beard & my chest hair too, little in my hair... my poor ol'dog Buddy really has a grey beard now too

The wife hates beards or it would be gray too. Still listening to the Dead, Floyd, Santana.... I'm a classic rocker. Still remember driving to see them in concert in my first 70 Satellite ragtop.. Good ole days !!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite is boogie woogie blues but I listen to just about everything except rap!! And I'm 20 years younger than Clint :D

Pretty much anything 60s-70s/classic rock.

I got into the "Surf rock" phenom about 10 years ago; Blue Stingrays, Tikiyaki orchestra, Aqua Velvets, Los Straight Jacks, Laika and the Cosmonauts, etc.

...graduated HS in 1977...

I gotta hang out here more often, it makes me feel young (I was born in 77)...I am getting pretty damn gray on top of my head, though.

Same basic musical tastes w/ some 90's grunge/alternative. Newest stuff I listen to is Queens of the Stone Age and The Black Keys...not much more out there worth my time.

:headbang:

born in 66.... Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden are my top two...old aerosmith old metal old rock ...On the way up north I hit the oldies station and leave it there till it fades out....npr more and more..... anything but rap will do..

I hear ya! I don't think anyone over 40 can tolerate listening to the radio! I cant! I had to fill out a passport application recently and put down grey for hair color! LOL.And when the beard comes in,it's mostly grey.As for music...every day I listen to Black Label Society,Megadeth,WASP.The only decent new band I've heard in years is Beasto Blanco!

Thanks a LOT, I just had to face the realization that me beard is actually gray!!

...and I'm "only" 45.

My wife and I just went to Alice Cooper/Papa Roach/Bullet for My Valentine/PopEvil.

...and last month Avenged Sevenfold.

I fell in love with A7X the first time I heard the guitar harmonies and the vocal style changeup.

They KICKED *** live!

I recently posted on FABO, that IIRC they were the closest thing yet to commercially acceptable 1980's style "metal".

The do have just a hair of Iron Maiden in them, and there were a LOT of Maiden shirts at the concert.

Interesting crowd- everything from 8 year olds with their parents, to 50 year olds with their parents.

Mohawks to suit and ties, and everyone in between.

Lots of unescorted girls/women, including a fair amount of "Velma" and a blonde late 20 something with the BEST 80's hair feather I've seen in a loooong time!

I'm 63 and still listen to Del Shannon, Ben E. King ,Gene Chandler, Rascals, CCR, Dave Clark 5, Beatles, Well you get the picture.

And yes, a grey beard and a full head of grey hair.

Glad to hear a bunch of us are keeping up on some of the new stuff! But still love the ole tasty favorites! Gray as hell now, but still got all the hair. I like to say "I got some snow on the roof, but at least I got all the shingles!"
I left out a few of the new, good ones, like Halestorm. Some good rock that stays true to the old sound.

Mostly 60s and 70s stuff but I do like some newer stuff

Sheeee-it, my beard's been white since I was about 40. Started as two small streaks and then went to hell from there.

Rammstein, Metallica, Daft Punk, Willie Nelson, Beethoven, Ian Anderson....

In other words: MUSIC. :headbang:
