Don't want to buy it back, just curious where it went. 64conv.jpgOriginally black inside and out but had a rotisserie restoration about six or eight years ago and is now red in and out. Always a Georgia car until a few years ago but now might be in NC. I ordered it in Feb 1964, got it in April 1964, and sold it in 1968. I knew that it was in Statesboro, Ga for many years but lost track after that. I discovered it at the Mopar show at Commerce, Ga shortly after it was restored and after talking with the owner I discovered that it was my old car. He sold it after that and said he thought the buyer was a dealer.

sounds like it was a super nice car here's another site you might have some luck with your search.

You might check with your DMV. In some states you can pay a small fee and they will send you a record of title transfers and dates. You do need the old license number and/or the VIN #. Good luck.

wow, nice car!...Sonny had a 64 Fury big block 4 speed looked a lot like that!
god I miss her, since she's been gone!:sad10:

Thanks for the responses everyone. I didn't keep any paperwork after I sold it in 1968 so have no idea what the vin might be. Also, Georgia is a little lax about titles on cars over about 25 years old so I doubt the person who restored it had a title for it. I was a little disappointed that the color had been changed. I still had the original Sport Fury hubcaps for it and offered them to the owner but he said he liked the wheels that were on it and didn't want them. I later sold them to a person who was doing a correct restoration on a 64 Sport Fury convertible. When I ordered that car at Derenne Chrysler/Plymouth in Savannah, Ga they had an identical black on black Sport Fury convertible on the lot but it had a 383/4 spd. The salesman was surprised that I would pay the extra money and also have to wait to get it with the 426 but it was what I wanted. I was 23 and had a 62 Fury convertible at the time. OK, I'll be quiet now, it was probably more information than you wanted to read anyway, LOL.

The car I just bought was originally black, black, but has been painted Imperial Orange, a Nissan color. I bought it out of Sherman, Texas in November 2013.
