Confused about installing door locks 68 Super Bee

My bodyman removed the door locks from my 68 Super Bee when he painted it, and I don't know how to put them back in. I have the FSM but it's not clear. Do they just go straight in with the rod into the little hole on the back of the tumbler ? Which way should the lever on the back of the tumbler be when I insert it ? Do I do this with the door unlocked ? Thanks

The 'lever' on the tumbler point towards the front of the car. Make sure the flat side of the key is on the bottom (in case you're new to MoPar). I install mine with the mechanism unlocked.

your lock cylinder should only go in one way,there are different size notches in the the hole,like a light socket,this will line every thing up and you will be surprised how everything falls into place

Yes, but again remember there is a left and right.
