Did it sell or are you keeping it?

I've gotten more responses and emails since I posted "no longer available" everywhere than I ever got before. What is it with people? I've decided that since I am going to have to give the frakkin thing away to sell it, I am going to keep it. I had a lowball offer that I ended up accepting and that didn't even come through. I don't get it. They sell on ebay everyday for around what I am asking, yet since it's mine, it's gonna sit here. Since it's gonna sit here, I'll finish it up over time.

Works like that with me most of the time too.

I had a 1966 olds radio with seek and scan that I'd been holding onto since the 80's because it was just cool.

I finally decided to free up the shelf space after searching for them on ebay and seeing $75-$350 selling prices.

I listed mine at $50 starting and BIN at $150.

No takers in three listings, coming down $5 each time.

Finally I put it up with "best offer" and ended up accepting $30 and flat rate shipping costs :(

WTF??

At least you're still a hemi owner!

I know you need the cash, but am glad to see that you are keeping it. Everyone wants everything for nothing. Take your time and finish it, then enjoy it once it is done. I wish there was something I could do to help, but like most everyone else, things are not great here. You will pull out of this and be the better for it. Good luck and tell the wife to get a 3rd job while you work on the HEMI. I KID...I KID

I am going to try this one last time. 3500 is my rock bottom price on this. If I cannot get that, it will hang on the stand until it rots off.

Rusty, what kind of performance is this 331 set up for? Meaning with the cam, carbs, etc. is it a low end torque motor, top end speed motor, or somewhere in the middle. I know it depends alot on the car, torque converter, and rearend. But say in a 66 B body wagon with a stock automatic tranny and torque converter, and low 3.xx gears in the rear.
The wheels in my head are spinnin as I realize I can't build a 318 poly for much less than what you are askin for this sweet 331 Hemi.

You are correct I priced out a similar build on a 360 and found that going with my late model hemi was cheaper.....had this been around then I probably would be rocking the 331

Sorry I am so late with this. The carbs are 350 CFM each. 9.1 compression. Cam is .435 lift, 240 duration @ .050 ground on a 106 LSA. It's just a hot little street Hemi built for reliability.

Dude, it's none of my business but, don't give it away like that. $3500! what will that get you at the end? I know times must be hard but $3500 doesn't go far and all of that work and money will be down the drain. You gotta be able to do something else to get that amount of cash. It sounds like you've worked hard at getting this engine and rebuilding it, it's not like you're making money on this!

You're absolutely right about that. But with my situation, there's nothing else that I can do.
