This 426 hemi is for sale. I do not have any history on the engine. I purchased it from a gentleman with the hopes of finding the correct car for the engine. I am in the market for a car if anyone knows of one this engine belongs to.
I am asking $12,500 OBO on this engine. It is as seen. No additional parts.

thanks. Mike...

Are you referring to the cast numbers?
i would welcome any help as I am far from an expert here.
Thank you very much in advance.

Are there any other pieces that go with the engine? Intake ? Valve covers? Etc?

The VIN or partial Vin is either on the top of the block on the drivers side of the OP hole or along the pan rail.

Ok. I really appreciate the help. I will check tonight when i get home. Thanks again.

I found it. By the way, I have nothing more with the engine. There are no valve covers, headers, intake, etc...image.jpg

You have to Amit that would really be cool to find the motor that belongs with your car.

It would be incredible for sure. If anyone could help me decode the numbers, I would be very crateful. Thanks again.

the numbers are along the oil pan rail. you posted the build numbers! but to find the actual car this engine belongs to you need to post the VIN or partial vin along the pan rail. does this have the 66-69 hemi oil pan?

X2. Look at the side of the block on the pass side just above and 90 degrees from the pan rail gasket surface. You should see a partial or complete VIN. With a cast date of 11/18/69 I'd suspect this is a 1970 engine. As a partial VIN you might expect to see a zero then a letter followed by six numbers.

I think I found it. If this is it, only 4 digits are legible. Looks like 3374. There is one digit prior, however I cannot tell what it is. There is also a number under the crankshaft at the rear. Not sure of the significance... Is this helpful at all. Is it odd that this plate was stamped at an angle, and more pressure applied to the top half of the stamp set?
Thanks all for your time and help.
Much appreciated.

Try to do a pencil rubbing of the partial vin you show in the photo. You may reveal addtional numbers. Or, wire wheel or strip the paint to see what else is there.

Has it been rebult ? Looks like assembly great on the lifters.

It may just be me, but the casting date looks like 11-18-68 to me. That would make sense to the 5-2-69 assembly date stamped on the block.
Matt

I was able to strip some paint off with some brake cleaner. I also did a pencil rub. Came up with 03374. Could this be all the numbers, or should there definitely be more to it? Thanks again for all the help.
Merry Christmas!
