I Don't Think So!

There are all ways the ones around who know more about your car than you do. I have had my 70 RR called everything, 67 RR, yellow corvete, Chargers and even a Dart. I just don't pay them any attention and just go on. And You do have a great looking car one that I know your very proud of.

Nice car! My favorite color on those years. Steels even better.

Thanks again! I am not even into having the car judged. As in the Corvette circles, you give a guy a hat and he becomes Mr. Mopar, telling you everything that is incorrect on your, all along he doesn;t even own one and never has. I appreciate my car so much because it is all oeiginal sheet metal, chrome, stainless. Only the tailight lenses ands bezels are repro. The engine, trans and rear are original also. The car has two broadcast sheets and Chrysler Historical documentation. This is the first Hemi I ever had and what amazes me is the oil that Larry Shepard insists on. The car has 20w50 Pennzoil with a ZDDP additive. That is some heavy oil! Since it is in a heated garage, I don't mind starting it once a week all winter. I would love to see another like it if any of you guys have one!

....when I hear stuff like that, I just tell the dude I'll be here all day.....just bring your heap out here and let us see your goodies....., they never do....

Any classic MOPAR is worthy of respect. A car that lives decades past any recent piece of tinfoil is worthy of respect. In a lot of ways, the most common MOPAR is very rare, just because most of them were used and crushed over the years. Performance cars have always been desired and with that comes value and longevity. My 67 Coronet 440 was a common beast in its day, but now? I've only see one other one in Texas that came close to its make and model.

That's a beauty you got there for sure, there is a guy around here that has a gold on gold 67 hemi GTX convertable and it is spectacular also.

Whenever I get attitude from haters, I always smile and say, so what you got in your garage? That ends it real quick.

I would love to see photos. That is a rare bird indeed.

Okies don't seem to know their Mopars. Maybe it's because so few of us have one. They all think my 69 Coronet R/T is a charger. That's partly Ma Mopar's fault since they had little to no badging on some models.

I tend to down play the situation too. I figure why cast your pearls before swine.
Now if there's a child there and wants to ask questions or see under the hood I'll bend over backwards for them. You gotta love kid's enthusiasm and honesty!
And if someone walks up that's not with the child, bend over and quietly tell him to ask the guys where their cars are lol.

I was a show judge for two years at the annual Mopar show that we 'used' to have in the Houston area. It wasn't concours but we tried to at least judge the cars to the best of our ability. It was lots of work but man, you got to see just about everything at the show and in the shade lol. If there was something one of us (2 judges per lane and 3 lanes) weren't sure of, we would huddle and try to get to the bottom of it. If none of us knew, then we would not mark it up. 73 6 pack Cuda? Yup, one showed up in the stock original class and with a 'G' code in the VIN and the guy argued with us that it was all original lol. He wasn't even supposed to be in the lane while his car was being judged.

I love getting my GTX called a GTO. then they argue with me that im wrong!! idiots.

My wife made a sign to go on our dash that says" It's NOT a GTO or a Roadrunner, it's a GTX!".

Had one guy ask what the difference was between a GTO and a GTX?!?! I had to figure a nice way to tell him the GTO was a GM product and a the GTX was a Chrysler product. Don't even use MOPAR when trying explain stuff like this as that opens another bag of worms!!!

I would love to see photos. That is a rare bird indeed.

I've seen the car twice at the same cruise in and never took pics, next time I see it I'll take a few pics even if it's with my crappy phone. Don't know the story behind it but I'll ask next season.

Same here. Just before the snow flew here, I took the 73 out to put gas in it and stopped at the store on the way home. A fellow and his young son walked by and I could tell the young boy was mezmorized by the car ... WOW, he says. Look Dad!
So I asked if he would like to sit in it and that made his day!
The father thanked me over and over.
Made me feel good to.

Nice story. A win/win situation for sure!

Very nice ride...I love it....I like when I'm filling up my car and the kid says his "what ever car" is faster....I'm like ya your faster....

I had my 1967 Hemi GTX out for a short ride and to get some gas. Several guys came over to admire the car and talk. I told them it was the first year for the GTX and only 720 went out the door with a Hemi, making it a quite rare car. One guy piped up that he knows two cars and they are not that rare. I just smiled, put the hood down, and drove away.

Hey probably knows where two GTO clones are

I don't even talk cars with people anymore. Whenever they bring it up i tell them i sold everything except for a dodge 4dr Coronet.

Seems to be a lot of misconception about there being a 66 GTX. Must either be all those 66's cloned into a GTX or parts listings that shows such and such fits 66/67 GTX models.

I always down play my car and sound stupid also. here's my favorite one. "hey is that a 360" I say yup sure is, but the spark plug thing wouldn't fit right so I drilled a hole and put it in the front of the block. Chevy and ford guys are everywhere..lol
