None that I know of! There is an outfit that does converts am to am/fm for later models! Check Hemmings Motor News

I know it is not what you want to hear but leave the stock radio in the dash to look proper...then add a SST audio remote mount unit...they a bit expensive...but leaving a clean look in your car and ahaving ALL the later bells and whistle as for media in/oput amps...this may well suit your purpose..was the cats meow on my 48 Ply Bz Cp with zero room behind the dash due to 2004 Dodge factory AC install..you do not have to mount the remote display...leave on cable for access under the seat...you also get RF remote control with the set up...I mounted my display..looked right at home and fit my particular likes..

@moparsteve636: thanks for the information, but I do not even have a stock AM radio.

@bigaadams: I was just thinking about a alternative to keep the original look and the bezel u know.
For instance a Retrosound radio http://www.retrosoundusa.com/ does not fit my 65 Coronet.
I was hoping that there might be another company in the US apart from Retrosound.

That is my current radio, not working, it just holds the bezel:

it appears that you may want to take an original period correct radio and have it refurbished with all modern guts...do not think you will find any way to get there without a chunk of coin...I know it is not so much the money as the need to retain the look...where in my case it was directly due to zero room behind the dash..it appears you may not have another choice to keep the divider on the bezel..

Oki, I`ll watch out for a period correct radio then.

Thanks,

Dan

i've looked into "moderenizing" the factory radio in my 65 coronet. apparently nobody does it. i think the radio case is too small for the upgrades.

I had the AM unit in my '67 Imperial modernized and the replacement guts looked pretty small to me so I'd be surprised if it didn't fit most radios.

I would think....just my opinion here...but even if a small radio chassis...not all components need be attached there...the fact that a cable controlled remote can be placed in many places though out the car makes upgrades unlimiting...if you recall, the Motorola company had done this in the 40's.....if not even earlier...I have one of these for a 41 Dodge...radio head is small...tuner amp is located away and deeper within/behind the dash where there was more room to spare..

I think I have a stock '65 dodge am radio boxed up out in my garage. If you want you can have, just cover shipping. Let me know Leonard.

I have a stock 64 Plymouth radio out of my wagon, it looks to be about the same. You can have it free just pay for shipping. Look in my previous posts there are pictures of it in the for sale section

radio update

I know this is a few weeks ago,but here is someone that can help you for conversions to the old radios.

http://www.retroradio.biz/

I also have been told that a 73-76 A-body fm radio is a bolt in the early 64-65 B-bodies.

Thanks Jeff,

a valueable information regarding the 73-76 a-body radio!
