Hey Fellers, I guess I have joined the club..I have owned oldsmobiles my whole life..and still own a few..but have always had a soft spot for B bodiy Mopars, 1968 through 1970..I was in Texas in September and just couldn't passt this little gem up..Its a 1968 Plymouth Satellite, 273,3 on the Tree and an 8.75 rear end..Factory air that is intact and working..The neat part is the car is a survivor, the engine has had a few things done to it but nothing major headers, small cam, carburetor..numbers matching original interior and an original 48000 miles car that was bought and kept in texas until I bought it..the original owner kept it until it was sold in his estate sale..I am the third owner since that..It also cam with the broadcast sheet..it still has the sticker on the trunk from the original dealer in Fort Worth Texas that closed in 1969..Forest Park Plymouth..I will try and post a picture..

Welcome, very nice.

Thanks guys, I don't plan on changing too much..it came with manual drum brakes so before spring I will change it to power disc brakes..gonna go with the kit from classic industries I think..I know I know Wilwood stuff..but I want to buy replacement parts locally and I don't drive like Steve Mcqueen..

I hope you don't drive like Steve McQueen...he's DEAD.:headbang::pimp_daddy: Nice car you have though. Looks like a straight body with no rust issues.

It is unbeleivably rust free..nothing has even begun to happen..underneath the car and fender wells are all 100% also judging by the interior which has a little fade on the tops of the backs of the seats and the dash has no fade at all and no warpage from the Texas summer heat it would have probably been kept in a garage in Texas..and that ain't bad..If the interior had been replaced along the way or the dash has been re-dyed or repaired they got me fooled..I am very happy with it..wish it had a 440 but the 273 runs well..

Cool car. As for switching to power disc, you might think about just going to disc, non-power. And, there are plenty of ppl that make the conversion. That way, there's no worries about creating vacuum, etc. Just my opinion.

What would be the problem with creating the vacuum nessasary ?? The cam is barely better than stock..please explain..I am happy to do no power brakes I thought seeing as I was there I may as well go all the way..

Go with Power brakes, A big car with plenty of stock vacuum. Don't think twice. Also go to MBM brakes for the Kit. Classic Industries buys it from MBM. Sometimes MBM runs a sale on Ebay under the name Pirate Jack and you can get all the parts in a kit. If your looking for a nice set up you do not need Wildwood. I run a Hemi with Power brakes and fairly decent cam and still get 14 inches of Vac. MBM has a very nice 7 or 8 inch duel diaphragm that will provide very good braking.. Make sure you get the proper Proportioner for your car with 70/30 distribution of Hydraulics.

Hey snakeoil..I have been told that the kit from Classic industires does not require you to go up to 15" wheels..so being as the MBM kit is the same is this true..seeing as you seem to have experience with these kits..? I would like to keep the original 14" magnum wheels on it..

Beautiful car! I love survivors!

i just did the disk break change on my Coronet a few month ago with their kit. Went from 11x3 drums. Had the entire thing done in about 2.5 hours but I already had PB so just had to change the master cylinder. I went with 17's so clearance was not a problem. But with factory ralley they have a very small hub area that won't fit on a lot of disk brake hub areas. I would call and Verify that.

I actually did call to verify..but I am skeptical about the answer...I may have to call back to speak to someone again to get me to sleep easy..If I have to buy new rims I have to get em.. but thats something I really don't want to do..I like the magnum wheels..I know I can get the magnums in 15" but I already have a 14" set I don't have to buy..

beautiful car! that 225 isn't a 440, but you'll like it when you pass the gas stations. and more pics please!

Mr Basketcase...it's a 273 small V8 same block as a 340..Good runner, if it was a 6cylinder I would not have bothered with it..I don't mind the small engine..the 3 on the tree is fun though..just ordered the power bakes the other day, they will be in shortly into the new year...on another topic I am rebuilding a 455 for my 1971 442 clone convertible..it too is a texas car from Midland..Gotsta like the texas stuff..mmm smells like brisket..:icon_lol:
