Its time

I'm glad I could help convince you. I was in the same boat, I almost removed them and filled the holes but then I thought there couldn't be very many Roadrunners that had these from the factory since I've never seen any. Did some research and only 14% of our RRs had this option so I kept them. I'm glad I did cause it just adds a little something on the side.

Well its been a while since I updated this thread and hate to say I should have made more progress but life and work have been keeping me busy. Now that the weather turned I can lock myself in the shop and get some work done.

Got the rear window frame cancer free and will be moving on to the trunk gutters next.

Are you guys melting the lead out of the quarters or just leaving it? Its in great shape and don't see any signs of rot on the backsides.

Lead is probably the best sealer-filler your gonna get, if you don't see any signs of rust and aren't making any repairs around there I'd leave it. Excellent work on the chemo.

That's what I needed to hear thanks. Looked from the inside and don't see any sign of major rust starting so I will be leaving the lead in unless something else changes my mind.
Got a little more progress today.

It amazes me as to how destructive rust can be.

Remove a small section of the truck gutter and replace with a new piece, rather than buy the panels I build a wood block to match and hammered it into form. More work but turned out pretty good.

Also got the rear window channel finished. Hopefully more progress next weekend.

X2, I'm so sick of rust from my current project that I'm thinking my next project will be a T Bucket "fiberglass" haha. Keep up the good work.

Great ingenuity. Can't even tell you repaired it.

Thanks that was what I was going for, didn't seem like I needed to buy the entire panel to get 4" of metal. This has started a new phase of "well Ill just try to build it first" and it has worked out thus far and saved me $$ at the expense of my time which is perfectly ok with me.

Great to see you rolling on the the Plymouth. Nice job indeed!

Thanks Prop. I have decided to go down the 512" path so I may need some input in the near future from you on your setup so I too can help the neighbors pull stumps with my Mopar

Awesome! You're gonna love the torque and if stump pulling is your forte, you'd be dragging out sequoia's with a 512. Anything I can help out with/answer, feel free to ask.

That is some great repair work, It really does look like it was never fixed! Good luck with the 512, that should be a TQ monster...

Hats off on the metal work!

Thanks its a labor of love.. then you just get sick of finding rust

Did some exploratory surgery on the deck lid and found alot more than I wanted to but I guess it really didn't surprise me much.

Also took a interesting ride over the weekend

Freezing rain + Snow + Country road + Grader that peeled back the snow to shear ice = RIP to my 2007 Hemi Ram. Thankfully the Wife and I walked away with a few cuts and bruises but nothing major just lost the truck but it can be replaced, oh and a pair of underwear but those can be replaced as well! Be safe and WEAR YOUR SEATBELT you never know when it might save your a$$!!

Waiting to hear from insurance on a buy back on the truck....may have a hybrid Restomod Ramrunner in the works!!!

Great work so far on the RR too..... Keep up the GREAT work!!!!

Nice restoration work on that Roadrunner :) Ouch to the truck wreck...man you guys were lucky to walk away from that one. I hope the bruises don't last too long.

Man I'm glad you guys are OK. Good luck on getting the buy back too.

Just got caught up on your thread and you're doing some great work man! I did the same as you fabbing up my own patches for the rear window and trunk, not only cheaper but I thought the extra work was pretty fun too

Glad you guys made it out of that crash ok, and like Brian said good luck with the buyback! Your bird would make a nice home for that new hemi
