I have a 70 Superbird with 14" Rallye Wheels. I don't believe they are correct to the car. Is there a certain code number I should be looking for on the rim to ensure it is correctly coded for the Bird. I also may consider putting on 15" but don't feel like paying all that money for new tires.

The correct 14" rallye rims for 1970 B Body would be part number 2944252 which are 5.5" wide. The part number and date code would be stamped around the valve stem.
I have 2 of these rims with a Feb 1970 date code if you are interested.

I have a matched set of 14" rallye's with trim rings off a Superbird.

Thanks for info.......

ps: do you have the correct centers off the Superbird. I may be interested in those if you have and they are in good shape.

I'm thinking he is referring to the "cone" style center caps? As opposed to the 72-74 style pancake ones?

posting a quick photo of the centers would be helpful. I will see if they are the ones I am looking for.

I am restoring my second Superbird equipped with original 14" ralley wheels..... so they may be correct for your car....

Thanks, BTW if you have any spare bird items for sale let me know. Looking for a nice set of the light argent centers.

Just thinking - if your wheels are original to the car could you tell me the code numbers on the wheel and whether they were 14 x 7 or 14 x 6 etc. When I come across something I hesitate to seriously consider because I do not want to spend money buying the wrong set.

Thanks

I find it commendable that you are trying to piece a Superbird back the way it should be done. Please RESEARCH all you can before you install. I have found this site a while back. http://www.iccahome.org/ . Maybe it can help you buy the correct coded parts for the assembly. Someone can chime in with feedback of the site.

Just going back to review some old posts. Was your rallye's in good shape with date codes and Mopar part numbers ? I have not gone thru the car yet to see if Broadcast sheet exists. Trying to determine if car came with 14" or 15".

what's the underside of the trunklid say? Should have the wax pen marking on the right side.
