What does this switch do on the heater/ac box?

I rebuilt the box and this was attached to the heater/ac box. What does it do? I don't see where it's attached to anything other than the box. The car is a 67 Satellite factory air car.

Doesn't look like any fan speed resistor i have ever seen. Im thinking its a temperature probe for the a/c evaporator.

That's a possibility. Operates by temp and activates the switech. I'll look tomorrow where the other end connects.
 
The switch is operated by the vacuum linkage. The switch is connected to the resistor on the ac control box.

From what I can remember that switch is used to bypass the heater valve bypass during max A/C or something like that. The factory service manual explains it's function in detail. If you want me to look it up when I get to the other shoot me a reminder PM on Monday please.
