FBBO cumulative years of Mopar knowledge, experience, passion - Post up your time

bought my first mopar when i was 16 it was a 68 road runner so you can add 38 more years

First car was a 73 340 4speed Duster. Bought that at 16 in 1979. Rebuilt the motor before I had my drivers license. 100 percent Mopar ever since. So, add about 34 more years to the total.

We my friends, are inching ever closer to 2K ... 131 to go!

My dad has a pic of me teething on a wrench when I was a baby, does that count?

Bought my car when I was 15...got into late model stuff around 20 when I was studying engineering...then back into Mopars at 34...36 now. Not sure what that adds up to.

Helped my brother do clutch job on the 68 road Runner back in 1970 when he came back from Vietnam been a round them ever since. The one I kept the longest is the one I have now since May 1999

Thanks guys we're almost to 2K with only 55 members reporting in .. plenty to go and every little bit helps. Maybe some of the lurkers will speak up. I'm sure there is a wealth of experience in the shadows too!

I've been a b-body owner for 17 years now. Into mopars for a bit before buying my first, but 17 officially!

Let's blow on past 2,000 and press on to 3K

_data_data_com.android (1).jpgDSC03713 - Copy.jpgDad became a Mopar man when the first B-bodies starting asserting their dominance on the Drag Strips and high banks, he bought a brand new 1966 Satellite with a 383 4 speed. My 3 younger brothers and I attended our first drag race with our own car in 1984. Since that day I've owned more than 45 cars, with only 1 olds, 1 ford truck, and 2 Toyotas being non-mopar. I can easily claim 33 years of dreaming, scheming, cursing, and wrenching on all of them.

Thanks Billy that did it for sure and thanks for lending a hand Kiwi and 6speed ..I'd like to see that

Great story and pictures Billy .. anyone else have any?

My first Mopar, when I was 17. (Yeah, that's an off-brand hood tach - I was too young to realize it was blasphemy.)

1985

IIRC it was early 85, and since it's almost 2014, count me as-

29

I learned to drive at age 9 in a '48 Dodge. Even before that , I was surrounded by my Dad, (mopar guy) uncles and cousins that were all into cars. A few brand X but mostly Mopar. Never was a time I can remember when I wasn't into Mopars and considered them superior to all others. So, give me 48 years.

Started my affair in 1965 helping dad with his new fury II wagon. Started work at a Mopar shop in 1970, shop foreman by mid 1971. So 44 years of making my living pullin wrenchs on cars, 50 years if your counting hobbys. Always had a mopar in my collection..
