Do Superbirds have hidden vin numbers like other B-bodies, trunk lip and core support?

Steve

trunk lip and core support.
just like a 70 rr should have.

Looked at one yesterday and could not find the vin at either of those locations. Going to try again to see if I can find them.

Steve

some superbirds are NOT stamped on the core support.

50% of the Birds were not stamped on their core support - not sure why but mine was not. Also you have to go underneath the weather stripping on the trunk lip to find the other VIN but I do not want to disturb my weatherstripping since trunk is watertight.

You should be able to make out the reverse impression left by the stamps. I know I can on my GTX.

Mine on the core support was under a factory sticker.

Some Superbirds are not stamped? 50% of Superbirds were not stamped? Is that a documented fact?

My Superbird is not stamped on the core support, but is stamped on the trunk lip. True on the 50 percent. The tray for the nose got in the way. (i was told)

Mine were stamped on the radiator side of the yoke.

I found the vin# on the trunk lip of my Superbird today, It does not have one on the radiator yoke. Thanks for the input.

Hi Steve, did you have to remove any paint or lift the weather stripping to find ?

I had to pull up the weatherstrip and sand down the paint some. I looked for 2 days and could not find the stamping but a friend with better eyes than mine saw what looked like a number so we started sanding and found the numbers. I am thinking about putting a clear coat over the numbers so they can be seen. Its hard to start sanding but I feel a lot better knowing the hidden vin is there.
