Pissed Off Neighbors...Probable city ordinance violations...My 73 Satellite Thread

I have had similar experience with good neighbors, they all came over to see the car when I fired it up for the first time, then asked, when are you taking us for a ride!!! LOL I have one neighbor that's really cool, and his wife actually told me that he cant stop talking about my car, I guess he is having flashbacks to his teenage years, he used to have a 68 Camaro RS, and I guess he misses it! LOL

Really cool stories guys. I guess I'll find out about my neighbors when it comes time to fire this pig up someday.! I'm guessing they are not as cool as you guys neighbors here in housing association suburbia!

Well I was a good boy this weekend and quit around 6pm both nights i worked. Friday night i slacked off and took the charger out cruising (where I live friday, saturday night cruising is still very much alive). Tell ya what a 66 charger turns some heads in a sea of tuners.

Anywho i did a little body filler work , welded in a few trim holes and alot of paint removal ( still got a little to do yet)

My mother in law lives just the other side of my garage and loves it when I tune my car at night..... But even I quit at 10 pm....

Painted the Satellite During Christmas Break from Work, this has definitely been a learning experience , i wouldn't be surprised if i decide to sand it down and try again. Alot of imperfections for the body work i did showed and alot that needed work i didnt even catch. The paint job leaves a lot to be desired

All in all it's looking good. You have more guts than I do to try to paint it yourself, and it looks like you did OK. Don't forget that our cars weren't "perfect" off the showroom floor...

Yeah, I know what it's like to be one of the youngest in the neighborhood but now, I'm one of the oldest lol. However, even when I was younger, I didn't like listening to a bunch of noise after about 9 pm or so. And you have to be aware that old farts only put up with so much :D But why did you move into a neighborhood that was full of old farts to start with!? :laughing6:

Old farts how funny is that and I am curious now as why did he move in to there?

If you do the body over again to get the imperfections out, Try a 15 inch flexible block sander, they make longer ones that help more but there pricy.. they are easier to sand all the shapes/contores of the panels in a even fashion, using a guide coat will help a lot to show any high or low places.. Hope this little bit will help, Looking at the pictures it looks pretty good but i understand the black will show you any imperfections.. Nice ride!

So what if it is not a perfect paint job. If you are not planning to turn it into a trailer queen and enter it in one of the Mopar National events and be judged for originality just drive it and have fun. Unless you have all the right equipment, including a paint booth, it is really difficult to paint a car and achieve a professional finish. I'll give you a lot of credit for doing what you did. If we learn form our mistakes that means you are getting better.

My problem is the opposite . During the summer , these old timers have all day to cut their stinking grass . but wait till Sunday at 7 am to do it . kinda like when you go to the bank at lunch hour , all the retired folks are all in front of you .
The wife says they are just lonely ...... go figure:protest::protest:
