I'm 18 with and found a 1973 Dodge Charger SE on craigslist, not running. I got the 383 running but with the 727 tranny I couldnt keep it up in the rpm range. Currently beefing up the chassis, complete rebuild of the front suspension and building a 440 that may turn stroker. All done by me.

Have had the car for a year now and have done mopar related research every day. Being a college student its hard to find the time to get the work done, but I can still research! Love the site and look forward to learning more.

welcome to FBBO youngster, sounds like a cool 73 Charger SE project, good luck with school & the car

You'll get TONS of help here - great group of guys and gals willing to assist with your questions . . .

Keep up the schooling and tinker on the Charger when you've got time - pictures would be nice ! ! Good Luck with your rebuild ! !

Welcome to FBBO. Its alway nice to see the younger generation into mopar muscle.

"Great car" congrats. I saw one done on Counting Cars not to long ago that just looked badass, just be patient and do your homework like you already are. Like the others said this is a great sight for help and support now "pics please".

Thanks guys, heres a couple pics.

Before teardown, unsafe 73 rotted bushings and all. But under 35mph the suspension was more plush than any car I've ever been in.

Great to see young people interested in cars of this era. Good luck with the build.

Welcome to the site . Nice Charger , Very nice ! It's good to see someone your age into these cars . As well as doing the work himself .

Welcome, nice start to your life in cars. Good luck, let us know if you have questions.

Keep after it, and don't let it set so long you loose interest or memory of how it came apart LOL...
It's great to see the young crowd interested in the old stuff! Take the extra effort throughout your build making sure you've done the very best you can do...
There always seems to be a "I wish I did this or that" when it comes to building hot rods...... Money usually has something to do with it, but sometimes it comes down to plain ol extra effort applied to get the boring stuff done correctly... It's all in the details...
Good luck with everything, and like others have said.... We are here to help, so ask away!

A college man with a classic MOPAR.
You'll go far.

Welcome, very nice car you've got there young man.

Great start. Do yourself a favor and take LOTS of 'before' photos (from multiple angles, of everything!) as you get into various parts of the car. They are life savers when you need a reference from having slept too many days between the tear-down and build-up! Not to mention they are great when showing others what you actually started with.

Looks great, I was 18 when I bought my first 73 charger project as well! Take lots of pictures and NEVER get discouraged no matter what. There's going to be easy parts to the restoration and there is going to be mind boggling parts. I got another 73 charger that my father has had since 87 that he has pretty much turned over to me now. Good luck with everything and ask any questions you need. You'll find tons of information with the search button as well.

Cheers :headbang:
